Squirrel Cage Jail is a history museum Council Bluffs located in United States.
226 Pearl St (Willow Ave) Council Bluffs , IA 51503 United States
Incredible spot to tour , the largest rotary jail ever constructed , and only 1 of 3 still standing. Provides paid self-tours, and supposedly very haunted location, pics of ghostly apparitions caught.
This place is so full of history it's not even funny. You'd do well to get in on one of the normal tours and then come back for a "haunted" one. Who knew CB had such cool stuff??
awesome experience, truly unique building- worth the visit
What? A FREE museum??? I enjoyed this museum immensely. Great collection of railroad memorabilia, especially the Union Pacific collection. Nice to see the old Carnegie Library building repurposed. - Larry Michehl
People who like history will really enjoy this site. The mansion is full of really interesting Victorian age furnishings and interior design. Unfortunately interior pics are not allowed. - Erik Rowley
Good place to stop and stretch you legs. Right next to several ballfields. If you have a van load of kiddies or pets with you this is ideal. Pick up some fun historic facts while you're at it. - Whitney
Beautiful fountain! Great place to throw in pennies and make wishes; plus just trailing my fingers in the water. The sprinklers are fun too. The kids love it and have a great time! - Lorena Kaasch
