Maymont was given to us by James and Sallie Dooley, who lived here from 1893 through 1925. They wanted Maymont to be preserved so that new generations could enjoy it as much as they did.

One of Richmond's favorite outdoor settings , Maymont offers walking paths , gardens and over 100 species of animals living on the grounds . Don't forget to bring quarters for the animal feed dispensers!

The Mansion Tour is a must! Takes half a day to finish the hike around the grounds including seeing the mansion wear comfy shoes :)

Beautiful place to go, and take your significant other. Kids also! There's a tree by the bathrooms that's nice for climbing.
Don't forget to check out the Japanese Garden , waterfall , and zoo . They have bison , bears , and an eagle.

Sprawling acreage dedicated to the wildlife of Virginia. Easy to get lost, but around the corner, could be the coveted Japanese Gardens .
