BRING A CAMERA ! The view is the real treat. U will also get to see the disparity between the life of a slave and a slave owner. don’t expect to get a lot of info from the tour tho, it feels scripted
It's cute that the people giving the tours are dressed up. The mansion is nice inside but the real treat is the view of the Oak trees leading to the house. You can drive around and see that for free.
As a local I'm here often. I'm known by a few of the tour guides. Needless to say I love the history. The tour and the grounds. I can never have enough pics of the grounds. Aim for the interesting!
Very nice tour with employees dressed in classic attire. Very friendly and genuinely care about the history of the place. Entry is around $20.
Oak valley trees are very lovely. Place for very nice pictures. The Tours are packed one after the other, so it feels rushed. it also feels more scripted than the tours at Laura plantation
Don't do an all day tour - it gets repetitive. A ways out of town you ride in a van to get there. Just do one or two of the big plantations and you'll get the history and it will be super cool.
Beautiful grounds to take pictures in and interesting history. The tour guide sounds incredibly scripted - and is not the greatest actor so.... the tour part is a little painful
Do the tour as it's fascinating. Nice to see them highlight the human cost of the slavery used to build the plantation in the exhibits , rather than just brush it aside.
Believed to be haunted by Louise Roman the daughter of the man who had the home built in the 1830's. She is dressed all in black and can be seen in the master bedroom or the widow's walk.
Day 3 of Antebellum South: Touring the historic plantation and its beautiful grounds under the natural wonder of 300-year-old oak trees while learning about the history of this Southern estate.
Gorgeous and worth the trip! If they didn't talk about slavery before, they certainly do now. In fact, our guide reiterated the fact that this entire place was built on the back of slaves many times.
Worth a day trip out to this to see a great plantation with people in period dress and tours
Friendly staff , great tour , a lot of history, a BEAUTIFUL location. Spend a few hours here, it's fantastic.
This is a sweeping gone with the wind style plantation. Gorgeous trees and grounds. Quarters where they kept slaves and the history.
Really good tour . And really good mint julep , post-tour. Can't wait to come back
Stunning place but wear bug repellant !! Stayed in one of the cottages and we were thrilled but we got bitten to hell by mosquitos when walking around the grounds. Food was exceptional.
Oak Alley Plantation is now open! Power is restored, the grounds are cleaned up, and Oak Alley Plantation is 100% open for fun! Beginning Monday, we open for our regular business hours, 9am to 5pm.
Beautiful so beautiful. Great tour . Don't just tour the house make sure to check out the slave quarters. AAA discount .
Superb - great stay and fascinating history. Food is excellent.
The most beautiful house plantation by far! A must see!!!
Recommend that if you come by car, try to arrive early. Hours between 9am to 10:30am are peaceful , with only a modest number of visitors, often by yourself.
Best plantation-museum in the area. If you have to pick one, this is the one to visit.
Beautiful place. Went on a tour and not enough time spent there. Need about 2 hours plans some time to sit and have lunch .
Also interesting on a rainy day, although they need to figure out a way to drain the walkways!
Great tour , we took the history of slavery tour as well . Very knowledgeable guide.

The grounds are beautiful! Plenty to see without getting a ticket.
The best plantation, great food, nice staff !! Worth it!
Beautiful, but the tour is kind of insulting. No real history unless you are super interested in how to make feather mattresses or run dinner parties. Didn't even say the word slavery.Very sanitized.
This is the classic plantation experience you see on tv and the movies .
So beautiful. The Mint Juleps are to die for!
Excellent tour with very knowledgeable staff
Oak Alley Plantation Restaurant Chef 's Lunch Special for Tuesday & Wednesday is Sicilian Style Pork Chops ! Yuuumm!!!!
Beautiful even on a rainy day.
The tour was great. Lots to see.
Gorgeous you seriously have to see this place and take a ton of pics
No words can describe this plantation - must see!
Don't miss the 2 classic Ford Model A 's in the garage ...
If the place looks familiar, its where Brad Pitt's character, Louis, starts out in "Interview with a Vampire."
A beautiful Southern Plantation which is used as location for movies and tv series
Altj is the best
Mint Julep before, during and after!
Most plantations are tour only... And cost around $20
Thought I could easily get the "courter's candles" elsewhere in gift shops on Royal Street but no luck! Pick them up here if you're interested.... Read more
If you have time, eat in the restaurant ..get the daily special for amazing home cooking ! Avoid the gift shop - WAY over priced.
On your next visit, take time to enjoy the restaurant and sample some plantation cooking.
Get your mint julep before the tour and end it drunk.
We love stepping back in time on a Plantation country day trip
I came like 3x eating this caramel walnut cheesecake. Strong strong strong recommendation - Fabian Martin
Incredible visit and insight into a creole plantation. While less magnificent than oak valley, the tour at Laura is much better. Our tour guide was karen! - Colin Lee
Amazed !!! Beyond gorgeous they tell you in details all about the slavery time and those that served there ... it’s a very vivid experience ! A must go - Julia Hoyer
Huge breakfast - crawfish Omelette was Great - ᴡ Akman
Their seafood buffet on Friday nights during Lent is pricey but worth it. All you can eat friend, stewed, and boiled seafood. Yum yum yum. - Trevor Simon Jr
