Mary Tyler Moore Statue

This is where I met the Mayor of Minneapolis! If you can meet him, he's a hoot. I'm not just saying that because he made it "Ellen DeGeneres Week" while I was there, but it definitely helps.

For better or worse, the Mary Tyler Moore show put Minneapolis on the pop culture map, and cable reruns keep the show's 1970s career woman, Mary Richards , alive and well and living in Minneapolis.

I was pretty disappointed too. I was visiting and tried to find her, only to realize that the octagon shape on the floor was where the statue used to be. SHE BETTER BE BACK!

TV Land's 2nd landmark , unveiled in 2002. This bronze sculpture was placed in the exact location where Mary Richards threw her tam into the air, a gesture of hope that inspired generations of women.

I was half dead then I got born again I got lost in all the lights but it was okay in the end And when we hit the twin cities , I didn't know that much about it I knew Mary Tyler Moore

This is a nice place 2 go 2 and see a statue of Mary Tyler Moore.

If you see her Tam on the sidewalk hand it back to her.

A classic Minneapolis must see. :)
