Don’t miss if you like history, architecture , coastal views or outdoor time. Large brick fort built on coastal mud in 1st half of 1800s complete with moat, draw bridge & Civil War cannon ball damage.

We loved this tour . It was very hot so I would recommend going not during summer. The tour we did was a little long but the cannon shots were really awesome!

Kids 5-8 can become a junior ranger by completing the Junior Ranger Handbook. It also helps them get excited and learn a little more about the fort.

Worth the $3. If you ask the rangers to unlock the peephole door for pictures - they will. Skip the lighthouse walk - you can see it from the road .
