Old Fort Jackson

This fort is 1 of 8 forts built prior to the War of 1812 that is still standing in the USA. We have year-round cannon firings at 11a & 2p, daily. It is a fantastic venue for watching ocean going vessels travel the Savannah River.

The historian gave many great stories and the firing of the cannon was fun and exciting. Just know that it is loud so plug your ears. :)

Fun place. Look in a local brochure or web site for when they fire the cannon. The cannon makes it worth it. Good history too.
