I love Strøget! It's expensive to shop but i love just walking down Strøget. Get some Brændte mandler (burnt almonds with sugar) while you're there and walk all the way down to Nyhavn :)

The longest Pedestrian street in the whole Europe. You can find anything and everything. A must see touristic attraction . Very packed at Saturdays.
The shops get more upmarket as you walk up the street from the central station end. McDonald's and Burger King give way to Lego and then the likes of Illum (great department store ), Hay and B&O.

From a Københavner: As a tourist you do not need to go to Strøget. It captures nothing of the essence of Copenhagen and hardly offers anything you won't get in so many other European cities .
Expensive, but good shopping. Souvenir treasure hunt.
