The Rocky statue was first unveiled in RockyIII and was placed at the top of the Art Museum steps. It has since been moved to its current location at the foot and to the right of the Museum steps.
Get your picture taken with Rocky...although it is strange that we have a statue of a fictional character, it defines Philadelphia and no trip here is complete without a photo with Rocky !

Did you know that the Rocky statue was originally placed at the top of the steps of the Art Museum ? Run/walk to the top and see what is left of where he once stood.

While you are checking out ROCKY make time to go to the PHILADELPHIA ART MUSEUM ! It's right behind Rocky (Rocky runs up the Art Museum steps) and home to priceless ART from around the world.
Homeless people will offer to take your picture in front of the statue for tips. They take really good pictures.
Watch out for the thief that wants to take fotos for you. He says he works there and will ask you for money after. Thief and hustler.

It's super crowded but you can't beat the view. Watch out for the 35 or so cars illegally parked in the bike lane right in front. It's a great representation of Philly. - David Howland
The exhibits are very good and awesome to see even though you have to pay admission in order to enter the historic building. Loved viewing the ancient armor exhibits. The management &staff are helpful - Dave Lepkowski
