Michelangelo's dome of St. Peter's is with 136,6m the tallest in the world. Its internal diameter is 41,5m, slightly smaller than & tributing to the preceding Pantheon & Brunelleschi's Duomo, Firenze.
Don't miss climb to cupola. The climb itself is not as hard as it sounds especially if you take elevator . Also, experience of climbing and seeing cupola from inside is also great.
Take in Rome from the top of the Basilica. Definitely worth climbing over 500 stairs . At the cash register you can only pay by cash. €6 regular entrance fee and €8 for entrance + elevator .
If you want to go up and see Vatican and Rome from high up - 8€ is on foot and 10 for the elevator . Don’t take the lift, tho. Still have stairs to climb. And take cash - they don’t accept credit cards
No doubt is magnificent, you are going to be amazed by its dimensions, elements etc. A miracle of art , though I disagree with that kind of spending of money. When in Rome, do not miss this must see!
10 Euros for fantastic Vatican city view ..please remember that you have to get up the stairs after getting off from the elevator . It is around 15mins walking upto cupola.
Pay 5 euros for the stairs , 7 if you want the elevator ( still have to do a couple of stairs thigh) . Totally worth it if you wanna see an epic and unique Vatican skyline. One of the city 's highlights
Scenic view to Vatican city . Obese people should think twice before climbing here: a lot to climb through tight passages
Even if you pay the seven euros to go by elevator it's still another 330 or so stairs to the top. Everyone had to take breaks along the way but the view is amazing. Languish and have a tea after.
Set in niches within the piers of the dome are statues of 4 saints with the basilica's primary relics: Sta Helena (Bolgi); San Longinus (Bernini, 1639); Sant' Andrea (Duquesnoy); Sta Veronica (Mochi ).
Amazing 360 degrees view of the whole city . Avoid in case you're claustrophobic 'cause the stairs on the way up are really narrow.
Worth the climb! Take the elevator and you're only 300 steps away. The views are spectacular!
Long wait in line but worth the wait, you get to see the Vatican City from up high! You can choose to take the stairs or elevator up
Worth climbing. Possible to pay by cash/card, entrance is €8 for stairs or €10 for elevator . If you choose the elevator , you’ll still need to climb over 300 stairs to the top of the doom.
Avoid if you are claustrophobic , very obese, breathing/heart problems. Even with elevator it's 321 steep narrow steps and 10eur. You decide if it's worth it.
no words to describe! ???????????? its massive, so much detail, amazing architecture & art ????????????????????????
Entrance right by the museum’s exit. Beautiful 360 city view .
Use steps (6€) or elevator (8€) and enjoy amazing view from cupola
Gorgeous view of Rome from up here! Worth the 500+ steps up!
Super view ! Buy an audioguide to locate the buildings seen or check it online. Long stairclimbing but it's worth it. There are chairs upstairs :)
551 stairs to the top... And an absolute must for any visit to Rome!
Great view . 551 steps for walk (5€), 320 steps if you take the elevator (7€). You'll need some breath anyway and not being afraid of less space is helpful too.
€5 to go up via the stairs . €7 via a combination of lift and stairs , which cuts the steps by about 30%. Just walk up!
Really worth going! The view is amazing! And spend an extra 2 Euro for the elevator option.
Be prepared to climb many stairs . MANY.
Breathtaking climb and view . You shouldn’t miss this.
Great view from the top. Long way. If you are tall person, the stair cases get really tight. But the view is worth it.
The view is amazing. It’s 551 steps but it’s worth it.
Climb it, stand on the largest free standing dome in the world, look out on St Peters Square and pretend you are the Pope.
Best view above Rome!
Love it!!!!! The real art
Be sure to climb this to give you a panoramic view of Vatican City and Rome!
Elevator or stair options to get you near the top, then stairs . Very tight and claustrophobic with twisty staircases
Build by stealing from the poor and to impress the crowd. Beautiful building though.
Best part of my visit to the Vatican.
Definitely worth the climb ????
Great views from the top. Worth the fee.
Skip the line and book online, go to the church directly and skip the 551 stairs its not worth it????
Higher higher higher!
Steep stairs , not for claustrophobic , the views are worth.
The best b cup you'll ever be in.
Great view
Visit the grote with the coffin of previous popes. Enter it on the left side of the crossing.
Good view of rome . The queue aint fast moving. Steep steps upwards. Very suffocating. Take the lift
Magnificent view . But will be problematic to get by stairs , if any claustrophobic issues..
Worth the walk. It's kinda tight in places so not for the claustrophobic .
For €2 less you walk up 520 steps ! Otherwise it's €7 for the elevator and only 320 steps !
For the second time here, love that gorgeous view :-)
God’s not Dead!!????????????????
The view from above its totally worth it!
