While there's definitely better omakase in NYC for much more $$$, I have yet to find one as good as sugarfish at this price point. If you've found one let me know where!

Barry Hott

Incredible sushi at a reasonable price. You'll need to put your name in early and come back later. Totally worth it.

Eater

$23, $33, or $45 menus start with edamame and include courses like tuna sashimi , albacore tuna , and a toro hand-roll. Eater’s senior critic Robert Sietsema had a promising lunch there opening week. Read more

For lunch if you arrive by 11:45am you shouldn't have to wait too long for a table or sit at the sushi bar . Get the Trust Me and add a few more pieces of sashimi that you loved to complete the meal.

AmateurConcierge

No better deal for sushi that I know of. "Trust Me " omakase is $39, plenty of food and high quality (love the abalone ). The Trust Me Lite is perfect for my wifey and only $27 (gratuity inclusive)

Eric Litman

Order the Nozawa "trust me " omakase for 2, several bottles of Nozawa sake , and you'll still spend less than in most nyc restaurants

Muskan

Went for the a la carte option and tried the salmon , scallops and sweet shrimp . Everything was amazing but the winner by far was the salmon . Next time - 4 orders of that and I will leave happy.

David Zhang

Good, cheap , quick. You usually only get 2 out of 3, and you get the former here. Put your name in at 4 to eat at 730. Or 11:15 to ensure a first seating around 1130a. A la carte is the way to go.

Meg Farmer

This was one of my fav restaurants when I lived in LA, & I'm so happy they are now in NYC. Just go w/ the trust me and let the chef make all the decisions. Sushi is seriously melt-in-your moth good.

Christopher Williams

Order the 'Trust Me ', a couple bottles of Nozawa sake , and tack on an extra handroll at the end. Great way to treat yourself. Went on a weekday for late lunch and had no wait—seems like the time to go

Kayleigh Harrington

Try sharing the large "trust me " menu and then order more of what you loved a la carte. The sushi practically melts in your mouth. Delicious.

Rachel Z

I usually get the "trust me ." It's a great value for the amount and quality of sushi . I was so excited when I heard sugar fish was coming to nyc. I wish they would open more locations in Manhattan.

Stephanie DeDecker

Amazing, fresh, and well priced - one of my favs in the city . Be sure to get the bento box . They don’t take reservations , so come early to get a spot or be prepared to wait sometimes up to 2 hrs

AmateurConcierge

Still a great deal. Trust Me for $33 service included. Real crowd pleaser, but go at off peak times if you don’t want to be waiting hours

Barry Hott

Ask to modify your omakase if there's something you don't want or something else catches your eye.

Terence Rose

Best sushi in NYC . There maybe better places (that I haven't been to), but the balance of ambiance, service, presentation, and quality there's nothing quite like Sugarfish. This location is the best.

Sonny Kwok

Sortof have to get there either around 5-5:30 or 10, but get the omaskase all the way. It's funny how the staff gets really serious about shellfish allergy

Elizabeth Burstein

I had the “trust me ” with uni and it was so good! Nom nom nom! The nigori unfiltered sake is great too.

David Milberg

I'm not a big sushi fan, but I tried the sushi here and it was fantastic! I think the only place I will ever eat sushi is at this place, that's how good it was!

Nick Andlinger

Incredible fish quality. Go a la carte and you can't go wrong. Skip the hand rolls . Sugarfish is legit af.

Claudia Cesar

Even with reservation it takes very long to get seated! But it worth it! One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been. Service is very good as well .

Erin Shea

Get there early (before 7) to put your name in and grab a drink around the area while you wait for a table. The fish is delicious and fresh, plus the prices are reasonable for Omakase .

Steven Benario

Fantastic value - definitely the best sushi dinner I’ve had at the $50 price point. Probably top 5 sushi I’ve ever had at any price.

Lee Hoffman

The salmon sushi was literally the best I've ever had

Claudio Santori

No doubt the best sushi in nyc . My wife and I took the large of their set menu (TRUST ME ) and everything was just melting in our mouths.

Rebecca Mazza

Get there about 15 minuets before they open to get in right away. Service is great and it’s a pleasant experience! Can’t beat the price

Judith Jaroslavsky

Their sushi rice is to die for! Best sushi in NYC . You can’t miss the unagi nigiri ????

Ruel Tyer

The tasting menu is the way to go. Service was excellent and the sushi was the best we’ve ever had. It melted in our mouths.

loran jonak

Best sushi in NYC , by far. Worth the wait but get there before 4 on the weekend to significantly reduce your wait time.

Olivia Zratko

For what you get (amount and quality) it's an awesome price! Go during off peak hours to minimize your wait.

Alexa Stern

Amazing omakase at a very reasonable price. The only thing I didn't like was the blue crab roll - see if you can substitute something else

Hector

Arrive hours before you want to eat, put your name down, and come back later. Get any of the Trust Me items. Best sushi in NYC .

Chad Horner

excellent value, just need to be willing to wait! put your name in and they’ll text you when your table is ready, probably hours later

Elie Hirschfeld

The sushi here is fantastic! The service is exceptional, and the prices are fair . I highly recommend giving this place a shot.

Mayank Mahajan

Probably the best sushi Ive had in NYC and very reasonably priced. No tipping!

Joe Kiley

Get any of the Trust Me 's, you can't go wrong. Some of the best and most affordable sushi in the city

Natalie Pacheco

Great omakase for a very affordable price . Fish is so fresh!

Vicky Mitz

Excellent sushi , and totally worth the wait. Make sure to put your name down on the list at least 3hrs in advance!

Giulia M

‘The Nozawa Trust Me ’ every time. Trust me , you won’t regret it ????

Barton Smith

Really great sushi , great price, unique flavor with their vinegar rice . I wouldn’t wait an hour+ again for it though.

Roniel Tessler

Delectable! Fresh and subtle. The warm rice and special sauces will make you a convert. Get the Trust Me , no question.

Yves Di Benedetto

For sure the best sushi I have eaten in New York. Amazing quality and reasonable price.

Alexa Stern

Delicious! Great value ; high quality fish . Loved everything! Go early to avoid long waits

Eric Ho

Order the Nazawa. Follow my food tips on Instagram @EricHoRaw

Steven Suthiana

Price is reasonable for quality of fish BUT I’m not sure it’s worth it. Service is mediocre, pieces were presented w/o explanation (1 of the servers) of what it is and the sushi rice is over cooked...

Zach Scott

Go for the trust me . The albacore is melt in your mouth. The hand rolls must be eaten immediately.

Calvin Multanen

Fantastic sushi . Very fresh and high quality

Yoni Zloczewski

No it isn’t worth the wait .. no place is worth the obnoxious waits at sugarfish however if you can ignore the long wait at a nearby bar you’ll be able to enjoy very reasonably priced nigiri

BrooklynBoyO

Super posh and excellent fish . Down to the wasabi and ginger !

Melissa Yu

Any of the trust me menus are good!
