Such a south Austin classic. The chicken mole or shrimp enchiladas are probably my favorite. Get the salsa sampler! Will help guide your entree choice. Avocado margaritas are famous for a reason!
The bean and veggie tamales , veggie tacos , and veggie enchiladas are all vegan sans cheese . The rice is not. The avocado margs are awesome & they have FFL queso
My favorite Mexican restaurant ! Try the al pastor anything. Delicious. Also conchinita pibil and avocado margarita and add bananas to your rice !
The avocado margarita is divine! I got the tacos al pastor with red tortillas due to Foursquare recs, and enjoyed them, though I like flour tortillas better. Don't fill up on the chips - not amazing.
The cancun rellano was really good, if you're looking for a delcious, flavorful, healthier dish! Also 'splurge' on the salsa sampler! You'll be surprised by the number of salsa & the flavor profiles!
The Avocado Margarita is creamy and tart , with a distinct nutty finish that only fresh avocados can provide. If you're looking for something a little lighter, try the delicately floral Bevo Rita.
This inexpensive , casual dive boasts some of the best Interior Mexican cuisine around. Superior tamales , salsas , Mexican breakfast , and regional dishes, as well as for an outstanding margarita bar .
You're a damn fool if you don't come here to eat the Tacos El Pastor with bananas and refried beans on the side and an avocado margarita to wash it down. Prices are cheap and the chips are addicting.
The Avocado Margarita is creamy and tart , with a distinct nutty finish that only fresh avocados can provide. For something a little lighter, try the delicately floral Bevo Rita.
Despite having over 150 4sq photos and a billion tips leftover from #sxsw, this place still has charm, kitsch, and most importantly, next level Mexican food . Our crew hit home runs with the mole .
Veggie tamales are great - wonderful portions. If vegan , sub out the rice since it is made with chicken stock ; however, the beans are good to go (no lard/cheese/whatnot). Limited sub options otherwise
Get the Cochinita Pibil , and order with homemade red corn tortillas . Also don't miss the Oaxacan coffee and sweet tamales .
This Oltorf institution is one of the city 's best Tex Mex joints, and they bring an interior flair to their top-notch mole enchiladas . [Eater 38 Member]
This place genuinely is the mother of all mexican! You can't go to Austin and not Tex Mex ! I found this out of the way little gem on my new Supper app: http://supper.mx/places/curras-grill-austin/

Avocado Magarithas are really good as well as the salsa
The pork tamales were amazing. Also the Avion Cucuberita was really fresh and strong
Our first choice for visitors who want Mexican is this South Austin spot. We know avocado margaritas are the spotlight, but try the spicy mescal Oaxacan margaritas . [Eater 38 Member]
Carnitas are my go-to. Nails that austin vibe. Avocado margaritas are a must if your visiting. They do charge extra for chips and salsa .
Try the Mexican Martini ! It's awesome. The veggie chorizo queso is also a fave of mine, and I'm a carnivore! If you like enchiladas , try the Enchiladas Chiapas with fajita chicken . Delicious!
Huge, authentic menu. Everybody raves about the avocado marg but there are so many other great options too!
The avocado margarita is the best margarita in Austin, which is why it’s on our list of The Tastes That Make the City : Austin. Read more
Great margaritas and the octopus ceviche is the best! The perfect ending to your meal is Curra's flan and imported Mexican coffee .
Susan Domelsmith of jewelry line Dirty Librarian Chains, hits Curra's up for the potato and cheese breakfast tacos and roasted red pepper salsa . More of Susan's Austin haunts over at ofakind.com!
The avocado margarita is good, but filling. Huge portions . Try the carnitas , so good.
Take visitors here. This place screams Authentic and original Austin and the food is tasty!
Huevos Mexicano is not on the menu - but is the healthiest miga-style option in town . Sub guacamole for your cheese and beans. Bless Curra's. Alex at the bar is beautiful inside and out.
Tasty and serving up some awesome vegetarian and vegan dishes . But be prepared: they're often busy.
The pork tamales are out of this world. They make the masa every morning. Truly a must.
Get the avocado margarita .
Great Mexican--tacos al pastor , avocado margaritas ???? ????????
Chorizo breakfast tacos , and an avocado margarita are musts.
Migas with spinach , mushroom and pasilla sauce. Outstanding! You won't find it on the menu, but the servers can recreate from just an image!
So maybe I had hi-hopes, but Tacos al Pastor was NOT good. This is now mich canned pineapples were in two tacos . Veggies were barely warmed (raw) & cut. :( Pork was not tender. Boo! Ava marg is GREAT!
Oaxacan coffee is great!
The blackened fish enchiladas were amazing! Satisfied the Mexican food craving of this former californian, NYC resident, visitor to Austin.
Of a Kind designer Susan Domelsmith (of Dirty Librarian Chains) recommends their breakfast tacos http://ofakind.tumblr.com/post/9546468648/susans-ultimate-guide-to-austin
best tamales ever ! try an assortment :-) they are all delicious !
The tamales are awesome and huge!!
Guacamole margs are stupid. Al pastor CAN be made w/o pineapple , and the tamales are good.
Ask for your margarita made with 1/2 lime juice and 1/2 soda in place of sweet&sour. It's a great brunch spritzer.
What everyone says about the avocado margarita : believe the hype.
Paloma margarita and the carnitas taco plate is what you need.
Everything is good. This place is a gem.
Everything. Their pork tamales are the best though.
Guacamole margarita and pork tamales were the bomb
Tried the avocado marg . not as good as the comments made it sound. Good service and food though.
You need to try the Golden Mamma margarita . IMO it's the best in town !
The avocado margaritas are delicious!!!!
don't let them refill / your chips - you might regret it / because... those portions
