Chef/owner Rob Evans won a James Beard Award and "Chopped" but left high-end Hugo's to concentrate on his palace of poutine and duck confit panini . The wait will be well worth it. [Eater 38 Member]

Had one of my BEST meals here. Try the poutine & be prepared to have a religious experience. Even the hand cut fries w/ truffle ketchup was superb. Also, the "Original" milkshake is out of this world!
The poutine is the best I've had outside of Canada without making it myself. Crispy duck fat fries , smooth hot gravy , and ample heaps of squeaky curds . A gut bomb not to be missed
We ordered the poutine , fries , a variety of paninis , along with the milkshakes and donuts . All were incredible, some of the best sandwiches we've had and one of the top meals of our trip
Come for the hand-cut Belgian fries ; stay for the original Duckfat milkshake , made with gelato , crème anglaise and fresh Tahitian vanilla beans . Read more
Recommended! One of the best meals I had in NE. Poutine , duckfat fries , meatloaf panino, beer & cheese soup ... Everything was spectacular! Also very good craft beers and excellent, friendly service .
This place never disappoints - it's tiny and the wait can be long, but it's worth it for the friendly staff , good drinks, and duck fat fries (not to mention most everything else on the menu).
Great spot for brunch/lunch serving amazing paninis and poutine . Get there early to beat the queue and order the overnight duck confit panino, you won't regret it ????
Worth the wait. Get the poutine . Then get the duck confit panini . Doughnut holes (cooked in duck fat , of course) with cinnamon sugar were great. Original Milkshake . Local beers .
Wow!! This place is always full and it's easy to see why. I had the "small" poutine which was more than enough for lunch for me. The gravy and cheese and fried cooked in duck fat was awesome.
The Belgian fries are good with the garlic mayo and truffle ketchup . The smoked brisket sandwich was delicious and tasty! Duck confit sandwich wasn’t bad too. Wash down with ginger zinger . 4/5
Top 3 places for lunch in Portland. There isn't much room so prepare to wait or sit next to a stranger. Well worth it regardless. Splurge on the sauces for your fries (get all that appeal to you).
For the true Duckfat experience, diners sit at high-tops, dipping the famous potato sticks in truffle ketchup or curry mayo and washing them down with the Duckfat Original Milkshake . Read more
Hum...the original milkshake ...really can you go wrong with a milkshake ? I don't think so. Plus they give you a tall glass and the remains from the mix????. Yes thank you
The poutine , original milkshake and donut holes are famous for good reason! Everything here is worth the wait!
Although everything is superb, the Poutine w duck confit truly stands out. Every single time.
Phenomenal. Meatloaf panini , duckfat fries , and a cold glass of their All Maine Tonic. I mean, come on! The atmosphere is small, but very fun, and the wait staff are great. This visit was a pleasure.
Everything. But really, let's see. Poutine , must. Just do it. Fries . Burnt honey shake . Doughnut holes. Cherry soda . Ham & cheese sandwich . I'd order them all again-- let's be serious, I will.
The best place on earth my girlfriend and I have ever eaten at. The truffle fries , panini and the doughnut holes were to die for. GO HERE OR REGRET EVER LIVING.
The fries are freakin awesome, go with the Thai chili mayo and truffle ketchup for your sauces. The duck sandwich is a no-brainer, but the turkey is also awesome.
Lobster & Mexican Street corn special when it’s on; blueberry & buttermilk milkshake ; and of course don’t forget the frites .
The Belgian fries are the star of the show here!! Not impressed with anything else, but I will definitely be back for those fries !
The wait is long and there's nowhere to wait inside so be sure to come when it's warm or you can get coffee or drinks next door. Nothing on the menu is to be missed.
Maine beers on tap and you gotta get the poutine ! Sit up against the bar in the corner and play with the magnetic word art while you wait, too!
Don't be intimidated by small layout, as this place has huge flavor. The truffle ketchup is worth the trip alone, so grab some duck fat fries & get to dippin'. Great staff & local beer selection too.
The fries here are the best, but they're even better when you go Poutine . Don't forget to order their original milkshake with Tahitian vanilla bean . So good!
Oh my god the vanilla milkshake was delicious. Interior decoration and overall vibe was also very nice. They also serve refreshing house made sodas !
Best fries in the world!! Ask for the big ones with garlic sauce ! Salt Milkshake delicious!! Duck panini incredibly good! Don't miss it!!
Be sure to get the Poutine with Truffle Ketchup ! Also, make enough room for their delicious Milkshakes !
Everything is amazing here. They do not have a full bar so if you are looking for cocktails you will need to grab one across the street before eating here.
Come for the poutine and fries . Paninis aren't the stars of the show. The homemade sodas were delish.
Comfort food at its finest. Looking for a snack for two? Split some fries with truffle ketchup and thai chili mayo . For a sweet tooth try a milkshake or some beignets . Counting calories? Go home.
If I lived in Portland I would be here ALL the time. Can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches and the poutine is obviously to die for.
I don't like poutine , and this is a game changer. The donut holes with the caramel was amazing. A great surprise!
One of the best spots in Portland. Poutine with an egg is a must!
Grab a seat at the bar - the meatloaf panini and poutine are a must. If you like truffles and ketchup get the truffle ketchup for your fries .
Hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. And I live in NYC so there's plenty of stuff competition.
The name threw me off but I had the most amazing dinner ! Get all the sauces for your fries ! The truffle ketchup is to die for!
You've gotta order the duck fat fries ! And pro tip: ask for their top secret special dipping sauce (it's not on the menu but it is life changing)
The fries were the best I’ve ever had. Try the horseradish mayo and the garlic mayo !
Oh, the fries . Get the fries and as many dips as you'd like. I get fancy and get the truffle ketchup every now and then.
Why go to Montreal when you can have some of the most amazing poutine in Portland. Fried cooked in duck fat . No passport required.
When they have it (shake flav of the day), the salt caramel shake is just the best thing in the world. Served old fashioned with the big silver mixing cup with the extra.
The truffle ketchup and garlic mayo are the best! Expect an hour or more wait, but it is well worth it. These are not "just fries "!
11am arrival so no wait. Food & Service were great . The seat at the bar where you can watch the kitchen is fun if you're into food prep.
Must hit if in Portland. Get the fries and try a panini . Excellent food great place. Weekend lunch call ahead and take out . Gets slammed!!!!
There is a line for a reason. I thought the Cubano sandwich was actually more of a reason to go than the fries
The fries are to die for! Small place and sometimes you’ll end up sharing tables with other parties. More company, more fun!
Duck fat fries are awesome! Variety of sauces . Place is tiny and wait is long, get take out and it tastes just as good.
Great restaurant that's a fun dining experience in Maine! Open kitchen concept with the menu changing daily. Just ask the waiters for a tip - it can be overwhelming to choose through all the options! - Tracey Zane

Roasted chicken and steak frites were amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection be so was the chicken. Enjoy the fried busses sprouts as well, a.m.a.z.ing - Joe Ybarra
