Excellent celebration location. Food could be a tad bit better. Overall this is a great place for events . Dance club and bar in the basement restaurant above. Outdoor seating .

TIL the name comes from Fort Putnam, a revolutionary war fort (today we know it as Fort Greene Park ). It was named after George Washington’s chief engineer Colonel Rufus Putnam. ????

Happy hour specials : get the brussel sprouts , devils on horseback , oysters , or wings . Everything on the menu is good, though. Lots of fantastic brews and bites. Fun trivia on Wednesday nights!

The Devils On Horseback is proper pub grub: fried oysters on deviled eggs with spicy aioli .

The happy hour specials are great - cheeseburger spring rolls , black pepper shrimp , and oysters were a hit - plus the mac & cheese app was delicious.

Great food all around. Awesome selection of drafts and Scotch /Whiskeys , and the service is on point! Favorites: 60 Min IPA , S&P Shrimp , and Bangers N Mash .

Really mediocre brunch . Badly cooked friend eggs and cold coffee . The space is nice, so I could see it as being a good place to watch the game, but I would come with a full belly.

They play The The and The Police and Van Morrison (and other wonderful bands). The service is hit/miss and the food prices aren't excellent but the food, drinks, and atmosphere are excellent!

The shrimp po' boy is bonkers. Salt 'n pepper shrimp on a po' boy roll with all the fixins. Huge and delicious.

Devils on Horse back EVERY time! Staff are lovely. Great place for snack and drinks or a group dinner

Troy is super nice. Really accommodating and friendly . Bought my buddy a few beers when the kitchen had grill problems. And the bar top is huge and great for parking .

caesar salad has a lot of dressing on it, but in a really good way. shepherd's pie is meaty/beyond delish.

Lively locals pub . Menu has all the classics and they’re nicely executed.

Brunch burger is my go to burger . Biscuits are buttery deliciousness. Short Rib Hash is a standout.

Mussels are an awesome value. Resist eating the toast right away though, save for later to soak up the amazing broth.

Very nice staff , but brunch food itself was so-so and I'll be just going back to Maggie Brown down the street per usual. Putnam is more roomie tho, in case you are having a meeting or bigger group.

Go to the secret lounge downstairs and ask for the vegetarian chili , you won't regret it.

Downstairs Lounge recently opened. Amazing space. Absolutely nothing like it in the area.

Padma review: Good oysters , chicken liver and wine . Burger overcooked and they need to invest in real napkins. Overall very good for a new spot.
