Houndstooth Coffee

An Austin original, Houndstooth is a coffee aficionados paradise, dolling out a variety of fine espresso , pour over , house brew , expertly frothed cappuccinos , and a tasty variety of pastries .

The drinks are great (go for their rotating single origin espresso to mix it up) but the employees are what make Houndstooth special. Hands down the friendliest barista team in the city . ????

Summer heat calls for a Japanese iced coffee . Made as a pour-over. Really excellent, a little pricy (but if you get it to stay there's no sales tax!)

This place has the most exquisite expresso in town . It's worth the hassle of parking lot hell. Take a moment, sit down, and enjoy your cappuccino without distraction.

Now this is the type if coffee shop I have been seeking in Austin. Highly recommended for serious coffee people and those who just like high quality coffee .

Soy latte is superb. Coffee is some of the best around. Some of their brewing hardware is just this side of art .

Definitely espresso snobs, you'll have a hard time ordering if you aren't a regular espresso partaker, the latte is good, would've been great with a sprinkling of real sugar

Just like Handsome and Intelligentsia in Los Angeles - amazing pastries too (gourmet PopTarts , DingDongs and Twinkies) - also try the iced coffee

The staff is awesome with equally solid coffee . They do have oak milk and a great daily single-source bean to give you some variety.

Ask for the Japanese style iced coffee on a hot day. The beans they'll be using is usually at the bottom of the coffee list. Super light, delightful, delicate and refreshing.

The cortado is very nice

They make an excellent cappuccino in both taste and presentation. It is a busy spot but worth the wait. Don't be tempted to get it to go!

These guys make awesome coffee and the store is beautiful, but it's not the best atmosphere for studying. Come here for an afternoon with friends!

I can order a flat white and get a flat white without confusion. I love that they are passionate about the quality of their craft

I had an Americano from Counter Culture beans (San Sebastian.) The espresso was silky, smooth and slightly sweet!

Really interesting and flavorful beans here. Very distinct and well crafted coffee , if a bit pricey .

The espresso here is so good you should go even if you need to fight a giant eagle (*) to get inside. (* presence of actual giant eagle is unlikely)

3rd gen coffee - get what you like. It's all good.

Not great if you need a lot of space to do work (small tables). Interestingly sourced coffee , but limited preparations. Clean , modern décor . Fine, but not a favorite for a long study session.

For all you coffee freaks looking for a pour over , these guys do it right. Their imported beans taste just like coffee .

Bar none best cup of coffee I've had in Austin. Ask for a pourover and drink it black.

Leave yourself time to enjoy coffee brewed right. They brew each cup to order. It ain't quick.
