On the extreme end of the dry market (1st floor), u can find interesting/unexpected services: Hairdresser , holiday tour agency, dentist , reflexology/massage, interior designer . Sweet!

Freshly grated coconut : We get ours fr #01-118 for kueh & to make coconut milk (for curry & desserts ). They actually bother 2 wash each pc b4 grating (Uncle sings as he does this). $1.60 per coconut

Cheen The Curious

Thosai. G.S. Oli #02-138 attracts a regular stream of diners. When I tried ordering masala thosai, it came with chicken meat. After sampling, I prefer the good ol’ vegetarian version

Geylang Serai Cendol at the corner is horrendous. Looks totally unappetizing and tastes equally bad. Worse still, the stall owner has really bad attitude. You have been warned....

Cheen The Curious

Cendol . The dessert that's mentioned a lot on 4SQ is Cendol Geylang Serai 02-107. Their recipe is the salty style which has its fans & detractors

Cheen The Curious

Briyani Ayam Goreng . Geylang Briyani Stall (Hamid) 02-146. Although fried, the chicken was moist and well-marinated. Coupled with fragrant rice & fruit achar (pickles ), I really enjoyed my meal

Cheen The Curious

Thanks to Big Ass fans (or whatever brand is installed here), the whole dining floor feels comfortably cool at lunchtime. Good investment ????????

Cheen The Curious

Nasi Padang . Hajjah Mona #02-166 has resorted to selling only set meals . This Ambeng Rendang Ayam $8. Yummy! Portion can feed 2 adults!

Iconic market has 2 levels - grocery stalls on the GF, and Hawker dining and retail stalls on 2F. A few hawker stalls are "Legacy Hawkers" having existed in the old Geylang Serai Market 50 years+

Cheen The Curious

MSCP behind market . Entrances from Geylang Serai road (from Sims Ave), or Jln Turi (from Changi Rd). Decks 1A to 3B for season parking

Ken Loke

IMHO, this stall has the best satay (sate ) in Singapore. Grilled fresh over a charcoal fire. Not too greasy. Right mix of fats and meat. Taste is classic Malay satay . 50cents a piece.

Everything you need to cook a Peranakan or Nyonya feast can be found here. Fresh and cheap ! Come early! And it's always crowded ...

Cheen The Curious

There's an AXS kiosk on level 2, next to central escalators. For paying bills/fines, reserve BBQ pits, etc

Cheen The Curious

Mee Soto . Soup base from Warong Solo #02-123 was not excessively salty, just nice. $3 per bowl with enough shredded chicken meat

Darren Yap

I've never had porridge like this. Loto style. It's surprisingly nice. From Warong Solo . Note that most stalls are closed on Monday's.

Koh Yong xiang

Rojak from rojak & mee siam nice..especially the sauce !. Try sinar pagi's nasi padang instead of hajjah mona...the flavour more robust..also remember to try the goreng pisang from Eeh! Eeh! Nak Lagi

Geylang is one of the most important landmarks of the Malay community in the country , and its recently-renovated market is home to lots Malay and Middle Eastern items.

The yummiest: nasi padang sinar pagi & hajjah sadiah othman. Both always having long queues, but the taste are totally worth it!

Tatyana Kildisheva

Awesome wet market , prepared food and clothes on the top floor.

Azryl Ali

When you come here try the Nasi Ayam Sambal with the tagline on it's blue signboard which says "You'll never eat alone". It,s really awesome!

Cheen The Curious

POSB ATM is on level 1 central escalators

Magdalena Mrázková

Great food! I recommend to find a table before you start exploring the stalls, as it's always crowded

Chendol is just Ice and coconut milk and noodles . :(

Aaliyah

Try the Malay otah there made traditionally like the olden days. I think at least it was base on hearsay. Long queue! Taste diff fr the normal otah. Spicy & flossy becos they use schreded coconut .

Great market for meat, veggies and fruit .

Koh Yong xiang
