Great atmosphere and beer selection ! Def worth checking out if you're in the South Tampa/Seminole Heigts area.

Found more than respectable beer selection . Had a really fine Cuban sandwich . Liked the vibe. Feel it's a safe bet worth the drive.

Music and fine drink are pivotal to the experience of The Independent. I definitely plan to return and bring friends.

Pay attention to the chalk color when ordering. Different colors correlate to different size glasses; there's a key near the bottom of the blackboard.

Beware on your first time, layout is a bit awkward. Cafe entrance is on the left if you just want coffee or sandwiches . Ham and Brie croissant is delicious and pretty good coffee too!

The poppy seed dressing with blu cheese on the house salad paired with the indie grilled cheese is amazing!

2/16/13 - get the poutine special this weekend. hand-cut fries smothered in ox tail gravy and manchego bechemel.

Ask the bartenders for beer suggestions , get the Cuban, and say hi to Splatypus.

The food and service is good but because of the mostly outdoor seating the place is crawling with bugs . I would recommend getting your food to go unless you want to dodge roaches all night.

They're okay - it's the fact that they allow dogs that I don't like. Dogs and bars should not mix. There's a park down the street.

Maybe it's just my bad luck but I've been here twice and neither time was the service what I would describe as friendly . Not downright rude but not real welcoming either.
