Impressive building. The bar downstairs is really cool and after the plays you can drink one with the actors sometimes.

The present theatre was opened in 1888, and since 1956 has been home to the subsidised English Stage Company. That year it staged ‘Look Back in Anger’, regarded as the birth of modern English drama.

Monday tickets are £10 and all seats at theatre upstairs and some for theatre downstairs are released 9am on the day. Unallocated seating upstairs.

Amazing old theater . Their bar will be closed for the rest of August but it's a good bar for a quick beer .
