A 500-Mile Shoreline Trail Around the Bay.
Mountain View , CA 94043 United States
Difficult to keep on sunny and hot days but there's always a cool breeze and you can observe impressive wildlife .
If you enter at Borregas (SMaRT Station) there is 1) free parking , 2) a porta-potty and 3) a 2 mile loop trail
Beautiful trail to bike or hike . Spectacular views of the Bay and surrounds.
See Map 6 - Bedwell Bayfront Park to Alviso for the full map http://baytrail.org/get-on-the-trail/map-by-number/bedwell-bayfront-park-to-alviso/
Good for birding. Occasionally you can see the Great blue heron, it's a beauty.
The trail is closed from Sunnyvale to Mountain View, around NASA Research building... So sad. :-(
In the summer it smells like wild fennel + low tide + effluent
Not paved but nonetheless pretty good for road biking
