Awesome place to take the kids. Give yourself 3-4 hours to see and do everything including the Omnimax Theatre . A little outdated but still shows great films .
Loved the Omnimax and the submarine . The test of the museum is geared toward smaller children. Did not see the planetarium . A bit expensive esp once you add on the movie and planetarium .
A great place to spend the day though it can be difficult to take in everything in 1 day w/ small children. The exhibits change often: check the web site. http://www.carnegiesciencecenter.org/
Ask any of the older gentlemen about the model trains and they'll give you a great guided tour of the whole thing. Also Mr. Rodger is inside his house. Look in left window.
I go here around twice a year with my family. We all love it. You can get bogo coupons for it in the entertainment book . Plus, the app also gives a coupon for bogo as well . itll save you money.
Favorite attractions are the Buhl Digital Dome, a planetarium show which transports guests to space and inside the human body, and the Miniature Railroad that brings the history of Western PA to life.
Lots of fun activities for the kids of all ages! Older ones really enjoy the sports works , and they even have a special area for little ones!
Literally every single exhibit was worth it, not one bad section it was all awesome
Carnegie Science Center is a great place for the kiddos on a rainy day, but also conveniently located off the North Shore Trail .
For those with kids or not, this place makes learning interactive and fun. Catch a show in the OMNIMAX theater , which plays full length films , on those particularly dreary days.

Everything is so cool here. Love the train setup !
Great hands on activities for kids
Sports works is a lot of fun... Good way to wear down the kids! Long lines for the climbing wall and the bouncing harness
Neat place with an Omnimax (360 degree) theatre , but very similar to Cosi, so not sure it's worth a Columbus/Ohio resident's time.
Midnight floyd is the shizznet definatly recomended new technology is pretty badass wish they still used the star projector like the old days though
Love the train setup
The model trains on the second level are a great holiday activity.
Don't miss the old cold war submarine on the river behind the Science Center. A great tour for anyone interested in history.
Awesome submarine , robots, guitars, sportsworks and more, best, they are open Monday
A great time for both children and adults.
Enjoy with family. It's one of great place for children I've visited. Submarine is also awesome!
I worked at CSC for a number of years. It was the most rewarding job in my life. I met people from all over the globe.
Just lost car keys, at least we'll be busy for a few hours!
Kids just LOVE the new sports center area!! Sciences applied to body parts and functions. Very well done!!!
Almost all of the interactive science that was there for the kids, is gone. Had a very boring trip. If it wasn't for the OMNIMAX, it would have been a completely wasted day.
Apparently I should work there, I had as much fun as my kid lol
Make sure to check out the old submarine and the Omnimax Theater !
Lasershows! Queen was the best! Acdc is awesome too!
The weekend evening laser shows are awesome but you may wish to bring earplugs.
Cool for kids probably. Not so much for adults. Expensive as well .
The Beatles Laser Show at the CSC Pittsburgh was pretty neat. Check it out... in a yellow submarine , a yellow submarine , a yellow submarine !
A museum with a submarine AND a planetarium ?!
The amazing theater (the Omnimax) has some amazing shows and is always a great enjoyment. Read more
The secret to beating the robot at air hockey is practice.
The kitchen theater ice cream making was great.
Admission is a bit pricey ...people are nice there...lots of kids making noise...so if you dont like kids, then this is not the place for you.
Great fun for the whole family. I love this place but haven't been to SportsWorks yet. I hope we get to go today.
The Sports Complex is awesome. Leave plenty of time to do this!
You have to visit the gift shop not bad.
Come visit the annual StormFest usually held in the begining of each year!!!
Robots! miniature railroad! Not sure who had more fun, Us or the kids;)

Trains , space, Imax
Very disappointing. This should be called the Carnegie Children's Museum , as there is no attempt to engage science-curious adults.

Can't say enough awesome things about this museum. Went with 4-year-old and barely made it off the first floor in 4 hours. People there are so friendly, so many interesting things to do. - Ari Katz
Definitely a must look, it's a quick walk through but totally worth it. Very cool and interesting. One of my favorite exhibits - Matt
Went on a Friday first time ever and it was very nice, small casino. Nice environment, everyone was friendly. The buffet was close that was a bummer but the other restaurant was awesome! - Vanessa
