When I first came the menu was awesome and they played soul music . Now they serve Applebee's style dishes and play multiple Maroon 5 songs each hour. If that's your jam , enjoy.

Excellent Veggie Pizza and one of the best charcuterie plates in the district! Such a fun atmosphere without being too overwhelming or pretentious . U have to check it out!

Andrew Doll

Great neighborhood bar with a small, but exciting food menu, as well as a great draft and cocktail list . Fun/well priced happy hour , with extra daily specials !

This place recently re-opened under new everything! Owner, chef , and wine and beer ! The food is OFF-THE-CHARTS amazing. Try te truffled egg salad sandwich for lunch . Three words for you: OMG!!

Cara

You know you've driven past & been curious about its unique exterior, and the payoff's great: smart new American food and fantastic cocktails . Fabulous piano bar on Wednesdays.

Rod W

Probably the best shrimp and grits I've ever had

Matt Bernstein

Had our engagement party in the private area upstairs. Everything was fantastic and we loved the space and the service.

I come here often with clients and office neighbors. Great neighborhood spot and good food. Try the shrimp and grits on Brunch Mondays! Yummy

I'm an out of towner and I love this place, chill atmosphere, good music and the fried green tomatoes are GODLY.

Eric Wingerter

You get 3 choices of a base pizza : Red, White or Green. Go for the white. The three cheese combo adds tons of flavor no matter what you put on top. Green is the most bland--it's spinach not pesto .

Steve Jackson

Blackened cat fish is great. The mashed sweet potatoes with it are great. Also nice to sit outside or by a window.

No, Shaw’s Tavern isn’t new in itself. But the two upstairs fireplaces are — they were added about a year ago when the restaurant renovated the upstairs dining room. Read more

The pulled pork sandwich is solid, with a healthy serving of slaw

Piano bar theme on wednesdays.get lucky on Fridays/Saturdays with live music . Brunch is not too shabby either. Love this place.

Tasting Table

Sample the Southern-tinged dinner dishes, and a cocktail menu named for the 54th regiment , one of the first African American units in the Civil War.

Michael Weinberger

Great sandwiches . Outdoor seating is great, especially because the inside area cab get a bit noisy .

Ryan Stevens

The hanger steak was absolutely the best I have ever tasted! And it was Served on a bed of the most amazing potato salad !

Sarah

Definitely see Derrick the host. He is super friendly and chatty and he will never let your mimosa glass get low!

Eric Haglund

The Tavern's namesake, Robert Gould Shaw, commander of the all-black Massachusetts 54th Regiment during the Civil War, was played by Matthew Broderick in the 1989 movie Glory.

Aaron Kubey

Amazing food. Their corn hushpuppies are to die for. The Bleu burger and Shrimp n Grits are yummilicious!!!

Tanuja

The BEST spring/summer 2014 drinks!!! Cucumber Martini , Peach Martini and Stoli Hot Bloody Mary !

Great nibbles and great beer and wine selection , if a bit pricey .

Cara

Great location, bad parking ...but this place is ultra quaint, brick and wood interior, outdoor patio seating , friendly staff !

Shana Glenzer

Get the Eggs Benedict - you won't regret it! The addition of spinach and tomato is brilliant.

Jeremy Thomas

The mushroom truffle burger is uniquely satisfying. Well done.

Kim A.

Try the homemade macaroni and cheese or chili !

Two words: Buttermilk Calamari

They've made a lot of changes to the menu in the last month. My catfish sandwich was bland and soggy, and the portobello sandwich is only mediocre. The saffron squash is excellent, as is the service.

Laura

The entrees are great but expensive . If you're on a budget, do the flatbread pizzas . They are amazing!

David McB

Yummy Pork Tenderloin !! Rib special is delicious. Friendly wait staff !

Chris Fredericks

Usually solid food but service can be spotty. Nonetheless a good venue and good value .

The chicken and (cornbread ) waffles = AMAZING.

It's always noisy inside, so I recommend the patio if the weather's nice.

almost 9 bucks for a 16 oz beer . Rules it out as a place to grab a couple of beers with friends
