Small art space. Enjoyed free entrance for Kusama’s exhibition to see her paintings . Infinity rooms line was insane - better spend that time to go see them in Mattress Factory Museum in Pittsburgh
Chelsea’s exhilarating mix of cutting-edge masterworks should not be missed by lovers and lovers of the visual arts . Steal away for a weekday afternoon and check out the David Zwirner gallery.
Doug Wheeler's light show is on until the end of February... It's quite breathtaking, but arrive early and with a hot beverage, as the wait is often over an hour outside and another 45 minutes inside.
The Yayoi Kusama installation is incredible! Make sure you get your camera ready & turn off the flash, because they only allow guests inside for 40 seconds at a time!
From the legendary sexually perverse drawings of cartoonist R. Crumb to the dark psychologically charged paintings of Marlene Dumas , Zwirner continues to challenge the conventional high-art standards.
If there for Kusama exhibit , there's no line for the paintings , video installation. The line for the infinity room at 519 west Chelsea (with black door) is also way shorter.
Well curated shows with sometimes enormous pieces really set this gallery apart from others in the area. High quality.
One of the best galleries in Chelsea. Worth a visit!
The gallery changes its exhibits every so often. Get on the mailing list to be in the know of what's upcoming!

Wait on Saturday for Yayoi Kusama infinity room exhibit was about 6 hours. Get there as early as you possibly can.
The Yayoi Kusama exhibit was stellar! The space is enormous.
If you want to see the Kusama installation without any wait, get to the gallery at 8 AM (it opens at 10). I made the mistake of showing up at 10:30—didn't get in for another 6 hours.
40 minute wait to get into the infinity room on a Friday, and gallery cant guarantee access to the room after 4. Talked to a guy in the area- no lines during the week.
Exceptional shows. Currently Jason Rhoades, amazing!
Folk Devils is well worth catching before it closes tomorrow--esp pieces by Marlene Dumas & Brian Griffiths.
Yayoi Kusama is one of my faves. Show ends this Saturday, Dec. 21. Get there if u can.
frequent kusama exhibitions are delightful
David Zwirner Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in New York City owned by David Zwirner that is active in both the primary and secondary markets .
Beautiful space, saw an amazing exhibit of Lisa Yuskavage's paintings .
The queuing process is highly managed. More so than a disneyworld/epcot line for the premiere of captain EO
They closed the line for the Kusama Exhibition over two hours before the exhibit closed. But there's a short line for one of her infinity rooms .
Good luck trying to see the infinity room even if you come at 8AM. People cut and there's absolutely no organization . I lost my place in line 3 times due their employees all telling me diff things.
Amazing art in an amazing setting!
Great exhibits !
Almost 2 hour wait for I arrived in heaven. Yayoi!
Staff here has no humanity. In a massive downpour they made tens of people wait and get completely sopping wet even though the interior was not full. I understand there are fire codes but have a heart
Infinity Room is only open to the public Tues-Sat
But such is the nature of the real... - Henry Miller
Try to go when the gallery is open
