Thornhill Broome Beach

Great for seeing whales October through March, seals and dolphins year round. Get weekend reservations 6 months in advance. Often very windy here.

Bring your camera ! This beach is located on one of the most scenic segments of California's Highway One.

Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in the Park 's day use areas, campgrounds and beaches . Dogs are not allowed on the backcountry trails or dirt roads .

Use all the rocks that have been washed up over the years! They are amazing weights! Tents , easy ups, wind breakers, or kicking your toe on!

Between the sound of the ocean and the muffled sound of the PCH, you're not going to be a better night's sleep anywhere. Just watch your food - sea gulls and squirrels are fearless here.

Tall tents aren't recommended. The onshore wind will keep it leaning for a while, not to mention trying to pitch it initially.

Get there early for good parking

Try and get in sites 1-10. Nice and flat, less rocky!
