It's not your average castle , it is small and quirky, which makes it special! Check out the maze garden at the back. They have exhibitions all year round in the courtyard .
You can only see the inside of the castle if you go on a guided tour . The wait is usually 30 minutes or so... if you're not interested in the tour , I still suggest going to see the outside.
It's the heart of historic Dublin. In fact the city gets its name from the Black Pool -"Dubh Linn" which was on the site of the site of the present Castle garden .Built in the13th century.Don't miss it!
I liked and enjoyed!Make tour with the guide, no entrance cost and you enter the old castle walls in the basement. My Dublin Castle video https://youtu.be/MZwQwS3icZA my YouTube channel : planetdunya
Funny and engaging tour guide! Worth the guided tour . It’s small and compact, good for a short tour before heading back to the temple bar area.
Take the guided tour . Our guide was very knowledgeable and an excellent story teller. Much better than trying to figure it out myself on the self guided tour .
Self-guided tour is €6.50. Guided tour is €8.50 and provides a guide for two extra rooms. Definitely worth the two extra euros.
Take the guided tour to see the Viking excavation and the chapel. Reasonably priced; a great way to get a foundational understanding of Dublin’s history .
Go on the guided tour or you won’t get to see the Viking excavation or the church interior.
Beware - you must be in guided tour to go to the medieval part! Guided tours are in 60-90 minutes
Both inside and out, Dublin Castle is an impressive building steeped in history. Take your time to walk around and really immerse yourself in the surroundings.
Great place to visit, great square and the interior is fascinating!warning: the tudors was also filmed here, in the chapel, what a magestic place!
Was until 1922 the fortified seat of British rule in Ireland. Upon establishment of the Irish Free State in 1922, it was ceremonially handed over to the newly formed Gov't led by Michael Collins.
Wonderful castle steeped in history. Great tours .
Lovely quiet spot in central Dublin. Be sure to visit the Chester Beatty library
The guided tour was very informative and worth the extra fee.
A delightful place, not quite a typical castle if that's what you looking for. But definitely a top place to see in Dublin!

Take the guided tour . You can't access the underground part of the castle otherwise. The stories and sights are totally worth your money.
This is perhaps one of the most unique castles , you'll ever see. In this government complex, you'd have to pay to see the magnificent state rooms, but roaming around the castle will be enough.
Sometimes if there is official business going on you won't be able to see certain parts so ask first. You'll also probably have to wait for available tour times some plan ahead.
Beautiful. And so old. Well worth the trip out to see it and take the tour .
Unless you like to see every Castle made in the world…look at it from the outside
Make sure you check the opening hours - the church was only open till 4 but the castle is open till 5, so we missed out on the church .
The guided tour is well worth taking. Really interesting place
Old seat of power in Ireland. Amazing site with corners dedicated to different things. Capable of holding very cool events .
Only walked around the castle never went in but it's super cool to view nonetheless.

There is a guided your hourly and allows you to see the archaeological digs that you can't see if you go solo
