From Washingtonian : Terrific salads (fried watercress , squid are good), gorgeous curries , and excellent noodle dishes . Mecca for lovers of all things hot, spicy , sour, and sweet.
Try everything, but especially the Yum Watercress , which will surprise and delight. It's everything you never wanted in watercress , but don't be afraid to ask. (Thanks for dinner , Jon!)
Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor. Addictive taste. Drunken noodles , yum watercress , green curry , panang curry ,fried rice - all recommended.
This place has been my 1st choice for Thai food since I moved to Wheaton back in 1998. Drunken noodles , pad thai , or tofu pad ka prow are my regular choices.
The kitchen is particularly skilled with the fry basket, which produces such standouts as angel wings , a light fritter of watercress and shrimp and crispy whole fish in red curry .

Chicken massaman is great, as is the pad Thai - any duck dish too!
I have tried the other Thai restaurants nearby but I think Ruan Thai is way better, the prices are reasonable and the portion size generous compared to the competition.

Don't park at Alex cleaner or the Salon place. It will get tow! They have signs everywhere
The yum watercress salad alone makes it worth a long drive. They have great duck and drunken noodles as well .
Some say it's the best Thai food in the DC area, others that it's the best Thai food in the US.
Local, reasonable, tasty, generous portions , friendly staff and happy patrons ...Excellent Thai food ★★★★★
One of the finest Thai restaurant in DC area except pricing everything is good!!!
This salad was delicious. Watercress , squid , cashews and shrimp
You can trust their water, they use Brita's. I used to work there. Also try Pad Thai with vermicelli instead of regular thin rice noodle , not on the menu but you'll find it's awesome.
I love curry chicken and lemon grass soup . The best I've had.
Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand! Don't miss the Yum Watercress .
Guay Teow Pad Gai & the Chicken soup side = top notch. Best Asian dishes are the Thai's...period
You can order the fabulous Yum watercress with tofu instead of the usual squid ...
Great appetizers (watercress !) with one-note entrees.
Watercress salad is amazing. Fried rice was great too!
Must have their Guay Teow Kee Mao (best version of drunken noodles ). Try the fresh mango w/ sticky rice for dessert . Best in the area!
The dishes explode with flavor, the kitchen is remarkably consistent, and the setting is comfortable and calming .
Love this place. Order the Yum Tuna appetizer . It' so good.
Stir fried duck and of course the watercress salad .
You can never go wrong with Thai Ice Tea $2 (4/5 NOMs). More tips & pics @ nomnomboris.com
Everything is good, but I tend to always come back to the charcoal pork .
Long wait but great food. Try the duck or pork !
Try the crispy watercress appetizer - its much better than it sounds!
Good: duck , red curry . Meh: green beans , chicken in red curry (overcooked).
Best pad Thai outside of Thailand.
Washingtonian recommends the red curry .
By far the best Thai food in MoCo.

Get the yum watercress appetizer . It's usually not on the menu but the kitchen will always make it. Om nom nom!

The veggie dumplings are unique - way better than the standard fare elsewhere. A must have.
