The roasted chicken with mashed potatoes w olive oil is incredible. Parmigiano sformato was life changing. Dark chocolate bonet was a good end!

Adena Brenowitz

Soft shell crab risotto was the best dish of the night! The spaghetti , calamari with white bean salad and the desserts were all fabulous! Great wine selection too!

David R

Nice, but pricey classic Italian spot in the mission. Mint tagliatelle was fresh and semolina battuta was incredible. Paired with Chianti . Good for a date or small group.

Christiana

You can get half portions of pasta so my boyfriend and I try pasta tasting here basically. Everything has been amazing so far. Best pasta in SF IMO.

Harsh Gupta

Really liked the ambiance and food. I had Linguine Alle Vongole and it was delicious, a little sour flavor to the gravy made it mouth watering 😋

sean pickton

One of the best Italian places we've been to. it is very much worth the wait. after you put your name on the list, grab a glass of wine at the bar and sit outside on one of the benches .

Brad Benson

Everything was excellent. The Ribolitta was unique & tasty, the GRILLED calamari was perfect (and I'm usually not a huge calamari fan), and the spaghetti was some of the best I've had! Sit at the bar .

naveen

loved every dish here at dinner - start with all the vegetables ; order a lot of the spaghetti for your table.

Holger Lüdorf

Get the cherry pie with marinated cherry tomatoes when it's on the menu and in season. Amazing!

Stick to the cheaper pizza place . The food is good here but the pizza is the way to go. They need to start servong the pizza on the restaurant side!!

Eater

You can make the argument that no restaurant in the last decade has changed the dining landscape quite like Delfina and its pizzeria offshoot next door. And that's a good thing. [Eater 38 Member] Read more

This place has been open forever, but it has stood the test of time. Wonderful, fresh Italian, in a vibrant bistro setting. Parking is tough, so take a cab.

Helen Zhang

Always save room for dessert . The panna cotta is still the best in the city .

Shin Mitsugi

Simple but superbly-done spaghetti . The pork belly dish with octopus and Manila clams was really unique and amazing!

Ron Kashani

The most important thing here is the tartin bread that you get with the butter when you sit Ask for it if you don't get it. Other than that , one of the best places to dine in SF in reasonable price

Hoff

The rosemary tagliatelle with duck ragu is life-changing. The rosemary is politely potent and creates an incredibly flavorful dish.

Epicurious

Craig Stoll cooks Italian food here through the lens of the Bay Area: hyperseasonal, locally sourced , and as primally satisfying as the home cooking of a Tuscan nonna. The panna cotta is legendary.

Ben Barclay

The roast half chicken was delicious, while the boozy affogatto was a nice way to end the meal.

Megan Doak

Jerusalem Artichoke Soup (with entire artichokes , an be made vegan ) and Lamb Pie from the pizzeria .

Jake Card

they occasionally have a shortrib cappelletti special and it's probably my girlfriend's favorite dish of all time

REALLY great food – listed as Italian but really seasonal, local, fresh and extremely well-executed. They have an adorable little pizza place right next door. -Monica Pope, Top Chef

Samantha Johnston

This place might have the best service you'll experience in a busy downtown eatery anywhere. And you're crazy if you forgot to try to the shot rib Cappalletti. It's to die for.

Jessica Rae

Zagat 26. Cost $48. "simple and perfectly cooked" pastas and other "unfussy" but "divine" mains, matched by an "interesting wine list "

ruth buzzi

People say it is pricy and staff has bad attitude, well yes pricy but you pay for what you get, great place and very knowledgeable staff , Kudos Delfina.

Jennifer Liou

Put your name on both lists - the restaurant and the pizzeria . The wait is redonkulous, but at least they let you order drinks and bring them outside to you.

Adam Craig

Be nice to your server they'll make sure you leave with a full belly and a smile

Stef Spitalnick

perfect pizza in the mission. also, try some seasonal veggies - maybe brussel sprouts !?!

Bommy

Spaghetti is indeed delicious but the whole shebang is expensive . Good place to take parents and/or out-of-towners.

Brett Lider

When you order bread , request that they only give you Tartine bread . (Note: Tartine bread is not available on Mondays)

Amanda Aizuss

Pappardelle + duck ! The sauce was rich and the pieces of duck were tender
