Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW)

The LED light and sound show between Concourses A and B/C are amazing. But if it is too much for you, you can stop the show for five minutes. Buttons are at either end of the walkway.

McNamara Terminal is one of the best in the US. Quick security, a built in tram , and beautiful scenery while you travel are just a few of the perks. Added bonus: major signage is also in Japanese.

The two terminals feel like different worlds. If you fly Delta , you’ll be in McNamara—arrive early for security as the lines can get long, and pay attention to the shuttle map and your gate number.

If you have time to kill, for $15 you can use the Westin's gym , pool, hot tub , and showers . They've got lockers, hair dryers, shampoo/conditioners and their own access to the airport .

Best airport in the U.S. I travel a lot and I always appreciate coming to DTW where it’s spacious and clean .

Don't take the internal train . The walk is much better for you prior to sitting in a little seat at 36K feet for a few hours. Walk it out folks.

Very efficient, clean , well signed as far as directions go. Moving sidewalk or tram to get you to your gats. Plenty of things to keep you entertained and occupied.

Easily one of my favorite airports ! If you are a frequent flier, I would recommend the app, GateGuru. Shows you where all the restaurants and shops are so you don't have to walk forever searching.

The underground tunnel connecting the terminals has musical lights that flashes with the music which can be a nightmare for those who are epileptic, be careful!

The McNamara terminal is fantastic. This is among my favorite airports to visit. Lots of varied food options. It is spacious with plenty of seating and electric outlets for working and recharging.

A perfectly pleasant airport - easy to navigate, got a cool disco tunnel , and check it in Concourse A, chair massages (Be Relax) next to a wine bar (Vino Volo). Aces!

One of my best hamburger of my last 2 months. Concourse B. Spend some time in the tunnel of colors and take a break at the Guinness tavern near Gate B13/14

On a long layover, go to the Westin hotel connected to terminal A. You will have to be rescreened on your way back, but the comfort of their lobby and awesome restaurant and bar make it worth it.

Love the main macnamara terminal. Tons of restaurants and shops. Spacious and clean with plenty of places to charge your electronic devices.

Fantastic state of the art airport . Light show in the underpass to B Gates is worth seeing. Many great food and shopping options as well as generous Delta Sky Club lounges .

Lounges : 4 sky clubs in McNamara Terminal. Big one in middle of concourse A, smaller ones on both ends. Medium and quieter one in concourse b/c after tunnel . 1 in north terminal (Lufthansa) on left

Easily the best major airport in the US. While the tram is great, if you have the time take a walk. It is good exercise.

Very linear airport serving Detroit. Food is cheaper and it has been recovering since 2008.

Modern, clean , efficient airport with great dining options! Not a bad place to wait around if you’re delayed...

When flying from LGA to DTW, get a seat on the left side of the plane so you can catch one last view of the city before you head back home.

Starbucks is GONE from the entry/fountain. For your coffee fix, go to A20; there is a full SB inside the Wall Street Journal - they even take Gold Cards.

Always stay at The Townsend Hotel when I come to the area in Birmingham, MichigAn. Great hotel in a great city . Try their Foie Burger in their restaurant , Rugby Grille.

Beautiful airport . Detroit is amazing... keep it a secret, don't tell anyone!

For a true Detroit experience during your layover - get a Coney Dog or a Loose Coney from Leo’s.

The best airport . It's modern, no expense was spared. There is food up and down the terminals, not just in a central location. It's clean , bright , making you feel relaxed from checking in & onward.

I love this airport . Cool architecture . Great places to eat and people watch . Love the lighted tunnels too

Southwest Airlines at the North Gate . TSA Security keeping us safe. The fight crew the Pilot gave me his six year wings because he liked my enthusiasm for the 34 minute flight from Chicago.

If you have time and do not have a connecting flight in Concourse B/C take a nice walk between the terminals for a calming moment in your trip.

Missed a flight in Detroit and had to wait a couple of hours till the next one. Completely amazed with the comfort on this one. The indoor tram and water fountain are certainly entertaining to watch!

This is a great airport ! It’s my first time flying in and out of Detroit. Security was super quick, the staff is all friendly , and there are some good shops and restaurants .

It is Michigan's busiest airport , and one of the largest airline hubs in the country . McNamara Terminal has 3 concourses A, B, C, while North Terminal D. Light plays in the tunnel leading to the A a ➕

If flying Delta , check the map and use the train . There are limited stops but the walk is much further than you think especially at the furthest points! Unless exercise is a priority and you have time

The airport is amazing! One of the best in the country . McNamara has plenty of things to offer. North Terminal has good food options.

Take the tram in terminal A if you have time to go from one end to another. If not, run fast.

One of the best airports in the country ! Nothing more simple and efficient as DTW. Great amenities in both terminals, especially the McNamara Terminal.

Free and fast wifi , good and quick food options, and pretty clean . Plus a cool indoor train . What else do you want?

Until Thanksgiving when the construction is done, be sure to park in the Green Lot, as terminal parking lots have been full. You don’t want to have to turn around in the construction ! @nicolerovig

Secret security entrance through the Westin has no wait. Plus the lounge / restaurant is excellent and relaxing.

This is a cool airport . Definitely take the tram to your gate, otherwise it's a long walk. There are a lot of good food options too.

One of the trains goes 8mph faster than the other, to compensate for the bend in the trails at the center station. Ride it enough times and you can predict which set of doors will open at the middle.

Chick-filet or the Plum Market are my go to food stops in my home DTW airport .

Good laid out airport . Fair amount of selection for restaurants . Be sure to get here extra early if you have a flight during the day. Security gets longer and longer as the day goes on.

TSA TIP #1: Before getting to the screening check points clean out your clothing pockets as well as any metals/jewelry etcetera and put them into your carryon bags (or jacket pockets) ahead of time.

A looooong way from one end of the airport to the other - wear comfy shoes , and enjoy the light show in the tunnel to concourses B & C - very neat!

There is a really pretty area with moving walkways that has light up walls and funky music . It's awesome! Also, the people here are really nice.

This indoor train is badass! I❤️ the upgrades to this place!
