Brought to Rome in 10 BC by Augustus with the Solare & put on the spina of Circus Maximus with the Lateranense, it was erected by Sixtus V in 1589 on pzza del Popolo; Valadier added a fountain in 1820

Seen for miles along the three approaching streets the square is usually very busy. AVOID the obvious tourist cafes and restaurants and beware of pick pockets.

Actually Rome has lots of great view so it's too hard to use best view but it has a great view in Flaminio district, the bad thing is that the terrace is not big enough - Babak
