Best Cultural Museum in the state . A must do visit for visitors and locals alike. Worth visiting over and over. Great traveling and family exhibits and experiences.
the staff and volunteer docents are great - Joanne in the planetarium shows and Bill who is a 5yr volunteer who has passion for the history. all worth the cost!!

The Hawaii hall and Pacific Hall are very nice and very informative. Especially if one isn't familiar with the history of the islands . The rest of the museum is a bit dated and caters more to kids
Not happy you have to pay for parking , but overall, the museum is a great preservation of Hawaiian history and culture contained in beautiful buildings.
Take your time here. There is so much to see. Get on a tour with a volunteer - they are good and worth the wait.

They charge $5 for parking for non-members in addition to the Admission Fee.

Bringing my daughter to experience some Hawaiian culture
The volcanoe exhibit is incredible. Take your favorite science buff as a nice weekend treat.
Expect a 40 min bus trip there after 3pm due to peak "hour" traffic

OMG their short ribs are excellent! Dry rubbed and crispy on the outside. Get the fried butter fish collar as well...you can eat the bones and all. And they have chicken long rice!! - Randy H.
