The Samuel I. Newhouse began service in 1982. The boat carries 6,000 passengers with a crew of 15. It has 7,000 horsepower. Newhouse founded Advance Publications, owner of Condé Nast as well as newspapers including the Staten Island Advance.

At nitetime leaving whitehall terminal stay in the back. Bring a tripod and mount the camera set it full f stop open and shutter for one second. At ISO 800 for a beautiful nitetime picture .
Best boat for power napping. Sit on the lower decks and let the gentle roar of the engines rock you into a heavenly 25 minute sleep.
This boat has the most room to spread out. Head downstairs for peace and quiet and a quick way off the boat.
