Lady Liberty , you have seen her in many pictures but, up close and personal is different and better. Get a ticket to climb right up to the Crown , 377 steps but, oh man does the view look spectacular!

Matthew Ferguson

This place is awesome. Great up close views of the statue and and panorama views of Manhattan. Make sure to get tickets to the pedestal or crown in advance of your trip.

Did you know? In 1885, the dismantled Statue of Liberty arrived in New York Harbor after being shipped across the Atlantic in 350 individual pieces packed in more than 200 cases!

James Panther

A must see for anyone visiting New York City . Make sure you book early and get the crown access pass so you can climb to the top.

If you have a cityPass and you'd like to go up to the top, make sure you buy tickets online before hand as they don't sell tickets on the island .

Plan to spend most of your day if you want to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island . Ferries to these islands are packed in high season so waiting to get on or off the boat takes 1/2 hour each.

Roopesh Chinnakampalli

Bucket list! It’s just awesome. You can board the Ferry that particular day if you’ve missed the time slot which you booked for! Parking is FREE ????????

Vasilis

Awesome and awe inspiring. Go with guided tour through Expedia, much better experience. Only 4,000 per day allowed on island and 400 up to pedestal. Tons of stairs.

Ryan Ross

A fun few hours, though if you're short on time whilst in New York, you might be better not giving up half your day to climb this. Offers a break from the skyscrapers however.

Daniel Marco Fernandez

If you are in NYC for longer than a week, go visit the statue . Otherwise it will take you plenty of time that you can spend doing loads of cool things in the city .

Raquel Vasconcelos

I did imagine her to be bigger, but it's worth it! Take the very first boat to Liberty Island to avoid big lines . That way you can be done with both islands before noon.

Kathleen Ognibene

Have small bills to rent a locker if you are going up to the crown . It was $2 today and secured by a finger scan. No bags allowed and the162 stairs up are narrow. It is worth the effort.

Esra PRG

Just great to meet miss liberty... I've seen her a lot in my childhood cartoons. I was on the boat form the New Jersey side, best choice ever. New York boats where overloaded!

The Corcoran Group

Recently reopened to tourists after Hurricane Sandy, this is a quintessential stop for anyone visiting the NYC area. If you want to go up to Lady Liberty 's crown , buy tickets in advance !

Karen

It is an absolutely must-do to reserve the pedestal entry. But, the best view is from P3, not all the way at the top at P5.

Famous American symbol :) for many tourist Statue of Liberty is a 'must see' place I guess. I saw it from the boat that had cruised around Manhattan.

Be prepared to rent a locker to store purses etc. Only camera & water allowed. Will go through security again! Be prepared to hike up the tight & narrow spiral staircase. It's totally worth it!!!

Tomas S

Unless you have tickets for the crown booked in advance you are fine by just taking the boat in and out to take the photo. Nothing much else to see on the island to be honest.

Simmi Harsimrat Parmar

It begins with a great ferry ride.. Amazing monument ! Calls for a visit at least once. It made me more interested in American history.
