Jonathan Gold recommends: Old Shanghai braised pork , jellyfish with vinegar, pan-fried pork buns , xiao long bao , stir-fried green beans with chef sauce, stone-pot fried rice , tapioca soup with papaya .
I'm from Shanghai, this place is very authentic , and nice environment too. Complaints about bad service are overblown. Finally, a delicious and presentable Chinese restaurant that's not Cantonese.
Go straight for the crabs fried with chile and garlic ; the crocks of Old Alley Pork , braised into pig candy ; the smoked fish ; the stone-pot fried rice ; or the pan-fried pork buns . Read more
Fancy place for Shanghai food , my favorite is meatball soup , braised pork belly , nice ambience, feeling like in the old Shanghai
Next time I think I will skip the braised pork . It's excellent, but is it really worth the calories? The sesame fried pork soup dumplings are essential! The xiao long bao is not, but still good.
Lunchtime dim sum is much better than you might expect — the morning crew unexpectedly speaks Cantonese among themselves. Read more
xiao long bao , or juicy soup dumplings , Chiu Chow–style fun guo dumplings , shrimp and chive steamed dumplings , baked chicken bun , deep-fried carrot pastry
The shengjiang bao here is awesome - juicy and perfectly done. I wish I had a bigger stomach!
Extremely authentic Chinese food . Try the 1, the 1010, the 1035, and the soup dumplings !
Amazing dumplings and pork belly
Get the stone pot fried rice and let it sit for 10 minutes -- you'll get a lot more flavor, especially at the bottom of the pot.
Steam shanghai juicy pork bun is the best
The environment is nice, with white table cloths . The food I ordered has good presentations, but a couple of items were a little bit too greasy.
A traditional Chinese wedding sedan at the entrance

Not surprisingly, Shanghai side of the menu is better than the HK side.
try their dan tats! rich creamy custard !
The service here is slow on weekend nights. It took 3 hours to get through dinner with lots of waiting time. If you're in a later seating, they also run out of a lot of dishes.
This place has some legit Shanghai cuisine .
One of the best dim sum place in san gabriel area
Glamour decor for a Chinese restaurant . Hongkongese style Shanghai Cuisine . Serves dimsum at lunch time.
They only accept soup dumplings orders after 11am.
Cool "inception" decor... Food was good, But way overpriced. Our bill was was over $600 for 18 people. For the same amount of people in Chinatown we usually spend $200.
Not so great. Dry short ribs , cold hot tea , dishes aren't hot when they get to the table. Portions are uneven.
Fancy dim sum for the wanna be 1%
First try. Pretty good. Quite authentic .
asian snow white dim sum house.

Poor service and don't bother!
#1 or lamb pot. The wok noodle packs are also awesome to add to the soup. - Robin Chen
Dessert and tea - Mei Mei
Great place for Northern Chinese food. Ignore the bad service! The owner is very nice, though. - Neal R
Thick, rich soy milk here. The sweet soy is actually unsweetened, so you can sweeten according to your own tastes. Service is great and the prices reasonable. - Privy.net
The desserts! Authentic turtle jelly, good tong sui. Definitely awesome. - Ivy Auyeung
I love any of the honey egg juices. They have the best quality teas I have ever had. - Andy Liu
The three course meal with priority seating for World of Color is worth it. Loved my Shrimp Alfredo and Italian Wedding Soup. A little more expensive than a la carte but fountain view is really nice. - Chris Cookson
Beef. Roll. Beef roll beef roll beef roll -- beef roll beef roll. Beef roll beef roll beef roll beef roll, beef roll beef roll beef? Roll, beef roll beef roll. Beef; roll. Multiple locations. - Katherine M.
