I'm from Shanghai, this place is very authentic , and nice environment too. Complaints about bad service are overblown. Finally, a delicious and presentable Chinese restaurant that's not Cantonese.

Los Angeles Times

Go straight for the crabs fried with chile and garlic ; the crocks of Old Alley Pork , braised into pig candy ; the smoked fish ; the stone-pot fried rice ; or the pan-fried pork buns . Read more

Fancy place for Shanghai food , my favorite is meatball soup , braised pork belly , nice ambience, feeling like in the old Shanghai

John Dewar

Next time I think I will skip the braised pork . It's excellent, but is it really worth the calories? The sesame fried pork soup dumplings are essential! The xiao long bao is not, but still good.

The shengjiang bao here is awesome - juicy and perfectly done. I wish I had a bigger stomach!

Extremely authentic Chinese food . Try the 1, the 1010, the 1035, and the soup dumplings !

Amazing dumplings and pork belly

Get the stone pot fried rice and let it sit for 10 minutes -- you'll get a lot more flavor, especially at the bottom of the pot.

Steam shanghai juicy pork bun is the best

The environment is nice, with white table cloths . The food I ordered has good presentations, but a couple of items were a little bit too greasy.

try their dan tats! rich creamy custard !

The service here is slow on weekend nights. It took 3 hours to get through dinner with lots of waiting time. If you're in a later seating, they also run out of a lot of dishes.

Jaime Lin

This place has some legit Shanghai cuisine .

Glamour decor for a Chinese restaurant . Hongkongese style Shanghai Cuisine . Serves dimsum at lunch time.

Steph

They only accept soup dumplings orders after 11am.

maddot13

Cool "inception" decor... Food was good, But way overpriced. Our bill was was over $600 for 18 people. For the same amount of people in Chinatown we usually spend $200.

Jimmy Chen

Not so great. Dry short ribs , cold hot tea , dishes aren't hot when they get to the table. Portions are uneven.

Bryan Yen

Fancy dim sum for the wanna be 1%

Thick, rich soy milk here. The sweet soy is actually unsweetened, so you can sweeten according to your own tastes. Service is great and the prices reasonable. - Privy.net
