Authentic and classic brasserie established in 1889 in the heart of Montmartre . Known among locals. Specialised in seafood , it is also a great spot to shuck oysters at its Ecailler next door.
Great oysters , good atmosphere, lots of locals from the neighborhood hanging at the bar . People-watch from the sidewalk cafe and have a glass of the House champagne .
Second time I came here. First time found the place by accident and was seated at the fish shop . This time around think fruits de mer platter was a bit disappointing but most of all the atmosphere.
An outstanding selection of shellfish . Seafood towers on every table. Not cheap , but delicious. Beautiful Montmartre neighborhood .
This is one of those establishments that are dying in traditions. If you want to have a glimpse of France in the 50s, go there. You don’t feel welcome as someone non white and non male.

Oysters , mussels and crevette are outstanding, the service is good. BUT: all other dishes we had were not acceptable and overpriced.

Infantilised by the waiters . They brought a glass of wine without telling me what it is. I asked for a second one and specified I’d like it to be a Burgundy wine . They served me exactly the same one.

My partner and I ordered the moules frites , really disappointed with the sauce as it wasn’t creamy at all more like hot water. The mussels themselves were gritty like they had not been washed properly

Brasserie de qualité. Qualité des mets et service toujours constants. Menu biscotte très abordable et copieux le midi. Écailler à côté pour les plateaux de fruits de mer à emporter .
Try: 6 escargots géants ou la soupe au poisson et sa rouille en entrée. Then: tartare de boeuf , or joue de boeuf ! Dessert : les profiteroles ! Do not miss this place if you are a real foodie!

À côté de la brasserie traditionnelle , l'ecailler met à disposition 3 tables pour déguster huîtres et crustacés à toute heure. Bonne et abordable carte de vins . Ouvert le lundi .

De bonnes huitres ... Mais un fish and chips à 29€. C'est trop cher et Ça ne passe pas. A noter, Service très correct et nappe blanche, etc.
Je conseille les fruits de mer et les huîtres en particulier, la tartine de moelle , le tartare de St Jacques et huîtres . Très bons conseils sur les vins . Équipe agréable, gaie et blagues de comptoir.
