First rate dining experience on the big island . Food is all local and superb. Waitstaff is friendly and very knowledgeable . Price is high for the island but a steal for the quality and experience.
Absolutely the best restaurant on the big island . Wonderful food and staff . Take great care and nice celebration of our anniversary.
Get the tuna steak . And fillet mignon . Creme brûlée desert is a must, too. Unbelievably good food. Although the place is somewhat classy , they don't mind shorts and flip-flops. Reserve in advance.
One of the best dinning experiences on the big island . Located 35 minutes from Waikoloa beach . During high season, I would highly suggest making reservations 3-4 days in advance.
Food is amazing, but is somehow overshadowed by the service. They really go out of their way to make everyone feel like family. The food is ridiculous though!
The macadamia crusted monchong was delicious as well as the locally sourced filet mignon . Photos of all their original farmers add an authentic feel. We came back two nights in a row!
For a big night out. Call ahead for flower leis and specially prepared desserts . Wine list is stellar. But a whole bean bag of the peaberry coffee they serve. Stuff is nuclear. Enjoy!!
Truly exceptional. Rare to visit a restaurant and want every single item on the menu. Fresh local produce and day caught fish !
Not sure what to get for dinner ? You can do a "half & half " and try two smaller portions of two entrees. You just can't get the bone in New York or the fresh catch of the day as a halves.
The original Hawaii Regional Cuisine hot spot, fusing island ingredients with flavors of the Pacific Rim. A gourmet meal to be savored and remembered. Service, ambiance, quality... all top notch.
Fantastic local cuisine . Really great setting. Really well cooked local ingredients . Catch of the day is definitely worth going for.
Good food. Good service . One of the better places on the island for food, lunch at least. Friends say lunch is much better than dinner .
If you want to try two entrees, they'll let you order a half portion of each. It's genius. The mahi mahi is alright but not amazing. The seasonal dishes are the way to go
Friendly and attentive staffs , nice and creatively designed food, one of the nicest on the island .
Everything is great. Try the duo of entrees so you can experience a couple of the amazing things Merrimans has to offer.
Simply wonderful! Fresh, local food deliciously prepared and delightfully presented, with top-notch service.
Outstanding! Waiter recommendations were right on the money! Will be back...maybe tomorrow!
Everything is locally-sourced here at this "Hawaiian regional" restaurant . Merriman cooks simply, allowing the robust flavors and beautiful colors to take center stage.
Do the tasting and let the chef do the work. We loved the mac nut crusted fish and pasta !
The place is very beautiful, tomato soup so delicious, and chocalate was so good. Everything was perfect.
Some of the best food on the island . One of the must see restaurants . Haven't had a bad thing on the menu
Everything is good. Really. You can even tour their farms and pick what you want them to make for you. Chris is a bit high energy for the island but a very knowledgable server .
Hamakua mushrooms are amazing! You can get two half portions of any two entrees - a great way to experience more of the menu.
Outstanding service , amazing food, and great wine selection ! Can’t go wrong!
If you have a group of four, definitely get the share menu. It's great!
They have a very nice kids’ menu, for those who might have keiki in tow.
Consistently one of the best dining experiences on the island .
Lamb was excellent! Scampis are great as well !!
Pig and sweet onion quesadilla with kimchi ????????
Get the ahi trio for apps, mixed plate for dinner and the coconut creme brûlée . Boom.
Never miss an opportunity to eat here. Yum!!! Fish Mac nut encrusted and ahi . Dessert and salad
Excellent food. Great service. Save room for pineapple bread pudding .
Lots of fresh fish and meat cuts. The day boat was fantastic.
Really good food, nice service. Small dishes though.
Get here after 7 if you don’t like dining with lots of toddlers.
Try the Merri Happy Hour Friday-Saturday-Sunday 2-5 pm in the garden !
get the ceviche
Dinner for eight on our way to the airport saying farewell to karis, tj, and eddie as they return to the mainland.
Their appetizer sampler is the best way to go, you get to try all the carefully designed dishes at the same time!
Yummy food with a focus on locally grown and seasonal ingredients . Pricey .
Cheeseburger was very good!
Try anything with the heirloom beets they are amazing. Better than anything I've had in recent memory.
Had an amazing dinner if you are ever in Waimea you must eat at Merriman 's

The corned beef hash here is to die for. Not sure how they get the hash browns so crisp and delicious, but I suspect butter. :-) - Nathan Kam
The tuna melt and quesadilla were my favorites. Smoothies are great too! - Jonathan Howard
The espresso was excellent and latte was best I've had on the island. People in the shop were very friendly and helpful and guided me to some new beans to try. - Theresa Walunas
Amazing! White sand. Gorgeous water. And even though it is a popular spot, it's pretty big so it's not crowded. - Stephanie Marie
The best place on the Big Island to get poke apart from the Poke Shack in downtown Kailua-Kona. It's worth the drive just for that! - Jae
