At the front of the store near the cash register, there is a CVS red box to scan your CVS card to see if you have any extra care coupons. If it doesn't work, use the CVS app on your smartphone.
Convenient and it's always open, the big problem is the pharmacy but if you just want to buy a coke or something over the counter there's no problem. Avoid the pharmacy though if you can.
The pharmacists here are horribly detached and unhelpful. They talk to their computer screens instead of customers and seem too angry to help with legitimate questions or prescription concerns.

Used to be great but then they ended the 24 hour pharmacy . Now it closes at 9pm (6pm on weekends) which sucks.

The worst operated pharmacy in NYC. Completely baffling how slow they are and ineffective.
