Gambrill State Park is a beautiful mountain park, located on the ridge of the Catoctin Mountains in Frederick County.

The trails are not very suitable for horses (very narrow, steep, and rocky). The trees are not trimmed high enough for riders. We rode the yellow and red trails . Would be a very nice hike .
From easy 1 milers to a 7+, this park has trails for hikers of all skill levels and plenty to see. There are some great overlooks with beautiful views overlooking Frederick and Middletown .
The black locust trail is great, good workout and spectacular views at the top! The tea room is a great place for a function or party.
