Great Café , lovely staff . Those two things are enough, without the ambling areas and entertaining children areas. Really worth the $10 admission price.
Wear a jacket inside during the winter as the museum is cold. Don't worry about carrying things since the lockers are essentially free. Best for toddlers and really young kids.
Very creative wholesome place for infants n toddlers ...takes around whole day to explore n enjoy..wish has in my city too
If you are going to paint here as an adult, bring your own brushes. The ones here get used by a lot of kids. Also, their selection of glaze colors are limited.
If you want to keep the ceramics you make, bring cash. They do take cards, but have to run it old school. The price for ceramics is based on weight and is super reasonable.
Let your kid play in the area they want to as long as they want don't force them to move on- they are exhibiting focus and that's a good thing. Adults push the need for novelty on too many kids :)
Founded in 1946, the museum is the sixth oldest children's museum in the US. Each year the Museum welcomes more than 280,000 children from birth to age ten and their caregivers.
This children's museum seems to skew a little younger my 9 yr old was probably one of the oldest kids there. (He still had fun though $
Good coffee , many different activities to try. I love the clay lab
Did you know? The first museum designed specifically for children was founded in 1899 in Brooklyn, NY. Portland Children's Museum is the sixth oldest and the oldest on the West Coast.
If you have small children this is a great place to get out of the house, out of the rain and do something fun with your child! Their water room is the best!!!
Great Cafe and fun sections to explore. Easy to keep kids entertained
Your kid will spend an entire day here and not get bored. More of a playground than an actual museum , though.
The new outdoor area is fantastic
Great place to take the kids, so much to see & do
