Make sure you go upstairs. Downstairs is pretty dank. A cheap feed for the whole family is the chips - OMG! Well priced beer , very nice venue, balcony is good for people watching . Staff are nice too.
Good place for pre dinner drinks, the balcony is nice in summer, the fire is nice in winter, though the 'table' by the fire is not very good as a table, you can't rest your drink. Staff are lovely.
The vale is a girls drink. Don't start or finish with it, have it as a refresher during the intermission of your evenings of pomp and ceremony.
Get the hot chips . You get about a metric butt load and it's very affordable .
