Escalante's Mexican Grille

A family favorite. The queso is very good, but DEFINITELY order the guacamole ! They will make it fresh in front of you. Its one of my favorite things to eat when I eat out in Houston.

This is an upscale "tex-mex" - the table side guacamole is a must. Spinach enchiladas & empanadas are amazing and probably my favorite salsa in H-town just the right amount of kick w/ great flavor.

It was fun to come to that place on Cinco de Mayo . The place was packed, with mariachi. The food was great, as usual and the service - fast and friendly (well , we're regulars there...).

My favorite thing on the menu is the Pat's Mexico City salad with grilled shrimp . SUPER DELISH!

Upscale Mexican place across Houston. Great cheese enchiladas and the queso blanco is damn good.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in town . Now they even improved their salsa ! Excellent food and service.

Never tried other location. The Meyerland location has prompt and attentive service and serves various dishes with outstanding beef quality.

Not a huge fan of this place except for their fajita party / catered trays. Kids love it though...

Turn around and head for cafe adobe. The food quality has changed over the years if you want really good trendy tex-mex cafe adobe or chuy's are your best bet.

Tortilla soup is pretty good. Very hearty meal in a bowl.

If you're in the mood for dessert , get the ice cream . Better than Blue Bell !

Queso & virgin straw daquiri are delicious!

Ordered veg fajitas . Did not come with cheese/guacamole- was charged extra $6 for that. Only given 2 tortillas - took a long time to get 2 more. Very expensive for bland Mexican food and slow service.

Order the chili con queso dip ! It's deliciously different from what you are used to.

I was definitely not impressed. The taco meat had no flavor and the enchiladas were just ok. The sangria swirl margarita was tasty though!

Expensive and small portions but the food is good!
