National Taiwan Museum

There is an exhibition about the aborigine culture at the moment - very interesting and well made. It was very informative and fully provided in English.

You need at least 2 hours to do any justice to this vast collection and go clockwise from the 3rd floor downwards to avoid queuing behind successive coach tours . Lift is at the back in the middle.

This museum is close to 228 Peace Park , Provincial City God Temple and Chengzhong Market . Oldest museum in Taiwan, since 1908. National Heritage site.

Interesting exhibits about Taiwan's history. I absolutely love the black and white photographs of the tribes and the landscapes of Taiwan.

The best return bus to Shilin MRT is the Red 30 bus from the stop outside the basement cafe/shop area. It leaves on the hour & half-hour

Really disappointing museum with nothing much to see since almost every exhibition is closed. AC and Free wifi inside though (really only on the second floor). Only NTD 30 to get in.

Not a big venue. Main exhibit is natural specimen of Taiwan animals. More of how it develops.

Stroll through this museum 30 minutes before they close, there are a lot less people!

国立博物館 としては規模は小さく感じられるかも しれませんが、原住民についての展示 が素晴しいのでもっと増やしてほしい。大陸と台湾の全く異なる文化的背景があるのだ、と改めて得心しました。You may feel unsatisfied especially after seeing Palace Museum but the exhibition of Taiwan tribals is awesome

228公園 に面しており、道を挟んで古生物館があります。故宮博物院とは異なり、先住民の暮らしや自然科学がメイン です。日本統治時代の事も展示 に含まれており、後藤新平の銅像も普通に展示 されています。古生物館も本館チケット30元で入場可能。ショップにスーパーヒーローみたいなリスのぬいぐるみが売ってました。

Expositions intéressantes à visiter lorsqu’on visite Taiwan. La partie musée d’histoire naturelle est bien pour les enfants .

1908 年に児玉総督後藤民政長官記念館として建てられたギリシア風建築 で、1909 年に台湾総督府博物館 に改称。設計は台湾総督官邸も手掛けた野村一郎。特別展が毎回興味深いので、台湾に来るたび訪問する価値あり。

228和平公園 の中と、道路 挟んで向かいの旧土地銀行 の両方に建物が分かれています。展示 はもうちょっと・・・という印象でしたが、入館料は安い ので文句は言えません。

階段好きには堪らないエントランス。中も重厚な柱や扉。明治時代の建築 物。
