Huge screens, plays indie and foreign movies , scrumptious concessions , clean bathrooms , booming sound, and comfy seats . This theater is a movie-lover's paradise.
The lobby of this luxurious , five-level theater has been built inside the shell of the old Empire Theater. Look up at the murals on the ceiling as you walk inside.
Lots of escalators . The theaters are 4-5 stories up from the street. Buy your soda and popcorn when you come in the door. The upstairs concessions were closed, although soda refills were available.
AMC PRIME !! It's better than IMAX. In fact the IMAX screen in this theater is not the biggest it could be but I come here for the prime theater . The seats recline and you get to put your feet up!
Smack dab in the middle of Time Square. Usually have limited releases movies . Needs a few upgrades.
AMC Prime gives you the best seats. IMAX seats are also comfortable but don't recline. Dolby sound is pretty awesome. Digital has no meaning or effect on your experience. It's Netflix on a huge screen
They've renovated Theater 6 as a "Prime Theater " with reserved reclining seats & Dolby Atmos sound. Comfy seats that rumble and a big ass screen! I'll even subject myself to Times Square to come here
Go during the day. Pretty much every movie you will have to yourself, even during opening weekend. Thankfully minimal tourist traffic during that time as well !
there is always at least 1 broken escalator here. if you’re lucky it’s one going down. if you’re unlucky (or here enough) it’s the whole first section coming up to concessions (about 6-flights worth).
Ginormous theater that still manages to feel overly crowded . Make sure you get there early as it might be a trek to get to your theater.
The crowd in this theatre are amazing, try picking a horror movie the reactions are priceless ????
"Prime theatre is the best I've ever been to! Amazing big leather seats that recline and have a leg rest that goes up/down. Can't see people in row below which is great and the screen projects in 4K!!
Get here early to buy your tickets or better yet, buy them online. It's a mob scene on Sat night and you will not find a seat with your SO if you arrive during the previews.
The matinee is great. Theater is always empty if you wait 2 weeks after release.
I avoid this AMC location at all costs. The ones at Lincoln Center and 84th St are much more comfortable and less crowded .
Love coming here. I always have a nite to myself, this is the place to come. Love the Dolby cinema
Surprisingly nice for being on 42nd! Getting here can be a battle with tourists though...
For the best experience make sure to try out the Dolby Cinema ! Best picture and sound around!
The cinemas are better than most in NYC, but the best part is the view of Times Square from the top floor.
This movie theater is amazing I've never been to a movie theater that's is huge I must say this movie theater is also better the AMC Magic Johnson theater in harlem
Had to go up to the top of the building. At least five stories up. Escalator off. Nice small theater though.
But your tickets ahead of time on fandango, seriously saves your life and time, so you can get that good seat you want.
Good popcorn , good seats & great location. I was seated in N19 in the IMAX 3D theater.
Well apparently the workers fixing the escalator on the 5th floor so I decided to take the elevator up to the 6th floor although the beautiful AMC Theatres employee is beautiful
Monster size Movie theaters Aka AMC Empire 25 screens cinema the biggest Theatre in 42nd street is awesome but i haven't been there i gonna check this theater out in the summer time
To get out without going through the hellscape which is the back of Dave & Busters, go to the front where the ticket checkers are and take that escalator back downstairs
Choices, choices, choices! That is what I love about this place. And the #EyeCandy too.
One of the best places for classic films
Spring for the AMC Prime theater if possible, reserved individual recliners make for the best movie experience you've ever had.
This was my first time at an AMC Prime RESERVED Seating Theater and I loved it! It's definitely worth the price!
This place is big. Some movies play on four screens at once, so no matter when you arrive there will be a show starting soon. If AMC doesn't have a movie , try E-Walk (Ewok) across the street.
Ginormous theatre. Account for an extra 10 minutes to actually get to your theatre that's about 10 floors up and a lot of escalator rides away.
Everything is awesome here. And the best is the chairs, a lot of room and comfortable .
Super easy to sneak snacks in here. I personally like this movie theater just because they have every single movie !
The IMAX theater here is NOT a true IMAX. AMC Lincoln Center is the only commercial movie theater IN Manhattan with a True IMAX theater.
The LieMax here is great for films with no actual IMAX footage, but for films shot in real IMAX (eg: Dark Knight Rises, Hunger Games 2, etc) go to AMC Lincoln Square for the complete IMAX experience.
Lots of choices and Chinese and Korean and indian movies too.
Don't buy your tickets on fandango looking to save time at this theater- the machines won't process so you still have to wait in the line with everyone. Painful
Great, clean , nice seats! Try out AMC Prime before paying for anything on the fake IMAX screen.
Tight seats. :( Be careful, some of the seats have obstructed view .
If you can afford the extra money, see a movie in ETX for floor-to-ceiling screen, Dolby ATMOS sound, and plenty of seating.
Be sure to step out onto the balconies on the top couple of floors for some cool views of the neighboring buildings and the streets below!
With my best friend at the #12YearsASlave Special Screening and it is very clean and lovely in here! Please see the film as soon as possible!
Love it here. Great sound, great presentation
Get tickets from Fandango to avoid long lines . For tickets pick-up, you don't need to fall in line . There's a designated cashier in box office for that. Well , $1.50 service charge ain't bad at all. ????
My favorite mainstream theater. Mainly just for the experience of going to see a movie in Times Square. Watch out for the tourist crowd though and expensive snacks .
Love the architecture and history of this theater!
Escalators don't work which is unfortunate. People have complained about the IMAX theater but I found the seats comfortable and experience much nicer than a standard theater. Recommend.
Majority of the screens have old and uncomfortable cloth seats. I would go to AMC Kips Bay or Regal across the screen if I can.
It's always good to come early because it gets crowded and buy your tickets ahead of time
I like this theater. Lots of options, comfortable seats. Popular movies get sold out so make sure to book in advance. - I K
Awesome movies theater with incredible coca-cola vending machines. You can select many types of soda and flavoured coke. - Luis Javier Robles
Usually pretty busy on big releases but a nice theater non the less - N Martin
Everything is good here! I would recommend going in the evening because the scenery is beautiful. Even in the winter time here you can't go wrong. - Pamela Benford
The food is unbelievable good! Try the buffalo chicks and the sirloin teriyaki! - Karina Enciso
Add chicken to any salad....fresh chicken off the bone. It was delicious! - Kat Morgia
