In the bun nuoc leo, a canopy of basil hides shrimp and crispy chunks of roast pork , which bathe in an unctuous broth flavored with whole fermented fish that disintegrate during the cooking process.

Great Vietnamese can be hard to come by, but this place has it all: affordable , a great ambiance, and a menu that mixes classics with a few oddballs. We love the beefy and spicy bun bo hue soup .

Louie Tsang

Probably the best Viet spot i been to. The Pho is good... The Bun Bo hue is def on point and it is actually spicy(pepper corns ), and the banh mis are better than anywhere else i taste in nyc.

Joe Burgess

Banh mi is definitely great, but it's worth it to head up to ba xuyen for an EVEN BETTER one. Everyone else got pho . Probably great pho

Ray Lin

Five. Five. Five-dolla banh miiiii. Bread was on the crunchy side but the meat is delicious. The pho is also great if you're here on a chillier day.

Dmitry Shilov

Whether it's one of the many soups served here, a bahn mi or viet coffee , everything's delicious! My go-to spot for Vietnamese worth a half an hour bike ride .

Ben R

Bun bo Hue is a must have. Rare to find in NYC and a good rendition here. Spicy lemongrass chili broth, with long simmered beef shin and tendon . Like pho 's angry little brother.

Winner of Best Vietnamese in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! Bun bo Hue , spicy beef soup , will cure any cold you catch this winter.

Ramon Maldonado

Tasted the Banh Mi pate sandwich ; bread was crispy and the pate was tasty but not spicy as requested. Coffee was amazing.

Bas

Try the house special Pho . Can't remember the official name but's very good! And of course, let me join the masses by saying the bahn me, #1, is a no-brainer

The real draws are the noodle soups and sundry Vietnamese dishes , which are more vibrant than any in the area. Read more

Try Bun bo Hue soup-brick-red beef broth tastes of long simmering , spiked w/ chiles, lemongrass , & shrimp paste & great hunks of braised beef & slithery rice vermicelli , along w/ scallions & cilantro .

jon ferrer

They have bun bo hue . Pho is solid. Skip the banh xeo though. Portions are HUGE and cheap .

Alex Hoang

For banh mi sandwiches , get #1! You won't be disappointed! Awesomeness :-)

Come here for the noodles , not bahn mi . Great curry and great broth, for your stomach's sake order their curry and noodles !!!!!!!!

loran jonak

Very tasty pho and good bahn mi sandwiches .

Uchable

banh mi prices went up to $4, but still well worth it. eat them right away. The curry and Hue's style beef noodle soup are recommended(spicy)

Wy D

Order a couple, tell them not to bake them and leave the veggies separate. Work lunch stash.

Andrew Landry

Bun Bo Hue is incredible! Do it.

Bun Bo Hue was good but not great. Honestly tought it would be better.

Call in to pre-order to avoid smelling like toasted bread and meat when you stay in here too long.
