This store has 200 kilowatts of solar panels installed on the roof. Enjoy your meatballs knowing they were cooked using solar! Find out what other businesses are going solar: http://seia.us/REBBhh
Get here early (10am) and beat the rush. Highly recommend coming via car (zip car parking available). Otherwise they offer a car service there which isn't too expensive .
A fantastic place to pick up some starter furnishings for that new apt of yours. Be prepared to spend a decent amount of time there. They are. They even have a food court .
When you're done buying items you can't pronounce, grab you're lunch to-go and head to Erie Basin Park directly behind Ikea. Well kept lawn and great views of the water.
If you’ve got some time to kill, walk 10 mins down to the end of Van Dyke St. to Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pie for the best Key Lime in all of NYC.
There's wifi under the "IKEA WiFi " network name! You have to register after you connect, but it works and since the store is a giant cellular dead spot, it's your only shot at a signal.
Experience authentic Brooklyn street food at the Snap food truck . Artisanal hot dogs , grass fed burgers & hand-cut fries . Here in Red Hook at 100 Sullivan St at Van Brunt. Open 6-10p Mon, Wed, Fri.
Try turning a shadowbox picture frame into a living wall using moss and succulents. IKEA also sells cylindrical- and hurricane-style glassware .
The free ferry on the weekends is a great way to see the city en route to IKEA.
Get ready to wait in line (s) for literal hours, especially if you show up on a weekend and want home delivery . Have somebody hold your spot while you get cheap , delicious hot dogs or cinnamon rolls .
I love Ikea but the maze and the crazy shoppers make the experience very stressful. At least the staff is courteous and the food is good. More servers behind the hot food would be so, so helpful!
1)water taxi is free on the weekends but 40 minutes apart . 2) Wear sneakers : it's like going to the natural history museum 3) use your phone to take pics of items & tags 4) pay for bags-well worth it
99 cent breakfast and free coffee before 10am! In addition to some nice city views from the restaurant
Love the coffee and Swedish meatballs . They gotta upgrade their shopping list system. If ur having things delivered, get all codes from the showrooms & give'em to staff to process before u check out.
Select your items on their website first and take the list with you when you come. Join IKEA Family for furniture and restaurant discounts . Free coffee or tea with membership.
Continues to be one of my Brooklyn favorites, more suitable for European small builds but many other great items other than furniture , especially kitchenware and bedding!
Lines are maddening. They need an express line for 5 - 10 items or LESS. Every time I go - I spend more time in line than shopping. Get it together Ikea!
Come here via ferry , provided for free by IKEA on weekends, from Pier 11 at Wall St. Sails by Lower Manhattan with views of Governors Island and The Statue of Liberty.
Use Keasy.co for stress-free delivery & assembly. They're WAY better than standing in the home delivery line & then waiting hours 4 the delivery company. They pick u up from the store with your stuff!
Who knew their food was so cheap ! It’s almost funny. It’s not great or anything but super convenient if you’re shopping and need a meal. $1 for a whole breakfast !
Bring a friend and have them wait in line while you do your shopping.
If you get tired of shopping, take a break at the restaurant . You can see the Statue of Liberty along with many other beautiful attractions !
If coming from Manhattan, just the subway and one of the buses and you'll be in and out in no time. Of course, it depends how much time you spend inside the store...
ALWAYS packed and products are often sold out (esp. things like individual shelves, curtain rods, etc.) when they open on a weekday is best. do NOT take the cars there - calling a cab saved me ⅔ cost.
Make sure you make your list prior to entering. 99 cents here, $5 there and when you finally get to the check out line , you are $500 poorer than expected.
Although in Brooklyn, there is a free Water Taxi on weekends from the Wall St. Pier . Check the Brooklyn store directions (on their website) for more information!
Ikea is always great place to spend half of a day. Good parking options, nice set up of the store. We buy all furniture here
kids macaroni and cheese plate with steamed mixed vegetables
Great deals for day to day stuff. The cafeteria is a huge let down tho. The quality of food and drinks as well as employees service is very bad and it is disappointing how bad it has become.
After a long bout with ikea, I've learned: only go to ikea for small items. You pay less up front for large furniture , but you'll make up for it in installation fees & unforeseen headaches.
Swiss meatballs ; can't get them anywhere else. Only at IKEA. Then sit by the glass window n enjoy the food and the view
My personal playground . Every time I have the chance I came to visit. Love the meat balls and the chocolate .
Home shopping isn't as much of a chore with surprisingly goodSwedish meat balls for only $3.99 - ranked number 7 on RobertSietsema's top 10 incredibly cheap eats in NYC!
Spend $150 on furniture and your brunch/lunch/dinner is FREE! Blew our mind too - but just had a near $40 meal for nothing. Nice work IKEA! I don't speak your silly language - but I do like free food!
Ikea is Sweden's precious gift to the world. The prices are great, the furniture fun and colorful...this is the perfect place to get lost and find what you need! And the Cinnamon Rolls are delicious!
Great store has everything you want for your home. Quite a ways from the Bronx great views of Manhattan free parking
smoked salmon plate with green salad
Younger kids love to run around the showroom, but be prepared to wait in half hour lines at the checkouts. Best to let one person stay in the showrooms with the kids while the other checks out.
Make sure to give your water taxi receipt at check-out for $5 reimbursement. Unless you go on the weekend, in which case it's free.
There is a family of Roma nomads living in the children's bedrooms showcase. Ask them to play you a song if you encounter them and make sure to give them privacy if they are having family time.
Come with a game plan to get in and get out. Allow yourself ample time and have an actually idea of what you want. Plus don't over do it on the lifting. Work smart and not harder.
failed 2 provide delivery window. changed order #; didn’t tell me. delivered outside window I got on my own from xpo. Paid 4 TaskRabbit svc. 27 hours + 3 Taskers later THIS is how they left my home.
Definitely come on off hours if you can help it. The free shuttle to the 4/5 borough hall are great, almost as great as the free weekend water taxi ! $5 during the week but you get $5 credit at store
For 82¢ (inc. Tax) you can enjoy unlimited coffee in the café , with a great view of Manhattan & the Statue of Liberty.
Hope to god the furniture you want is available in self service. If you need to go through the furniture pickup zone after paying, brace yourself for an hour or two of thumbtwiddling.
Ikea stocks somewhat inexpensive furniture . The cafe serves meatballs where you can also enjoy the scenic views .
Take a trip on the Water Taxi to shop for furniture , grab an inexpensive meal (try the Swedish meatballs ) or enjoy wandering the redeveloped piers .
Still one of the only places to get affordable furniture in this city , although you have to run the gauntlet that is Ikea. Don't get anything delivered, just use a cab service.
Save your energy to give the armed police guard at the exit your biggest smile. Seems appropriate to shoot at someone trying to steal a particle board shelf & Allen keys, right?
Get a full bedroom for 500usd and a full dinner for 15. Bc cheap and good quality can be used in the same sentence.

I love the chicken tenders with fries. With a Pepsi. It's the best combo for me with the pink dessert thing. - Anna Guida
SF based furniture store that has a lot of intricate designs. More on the pricey side but still worth a visit! - Tiffany
Amazing store for finding refurbished antique and new original furniture. The staff here are great and the wine on Sunday afternoon makes the trip even better! - Paul Carman
Good prices and selection compared to manhattan and downtown Brooklyn.. If I get a new apartment, I'd consider coming down here with a zip car. - Max Sklar
The crab legs and lobster were phenomenal and the views are great from the roof deck! - Lindsey
