Sit at the bar . Get the oysters . The mussels were also amazing. At night there's sometimes a guitarist perched at upper level over the bar - one very talented guy. Definitely going back when in Dublin
Pots of seafood are huge and tasty. Come here after 5 o'clock if did not book in advance, otherwise, you might not find the place - so crowdy it becomes. Prices: (starter+main+dessert)x2=86€.
Excellent oysters and smoked salmon starter. Generous portions and fresh ingredients . Friendly service and good wine as well : definitely recommended!
the meals were fabulous. Please order carefully if you do not use alcohol . All employees are courteous and helpful. After my trip, I think Ireland and Irish people are obviously the best.
€60 for an amazing seafood platter is quite the deal. Comes with cockles , mussels , prawns , crab , crab salad , and 1/2 lobster . Total winner. Also try the seafood chowder !
Aside from having Michelle Obama visiting this place, this place is nothing special in terms of food. Good space inside and surrounded outside by very good restaurants . Consider it for a pre drink.
Galway and Carlingford oysters , fresh fish pan-fried or grilled, ale and stout on tap
Went there on a Saturday evening with no booking . We had dinner at the bar . Seafood platter was great as was the verdejo and the service. Totally recommendable.
Beautiful restaurant and unpretentious service. Fish and chips was brilliant
Delicious food and nice surroundings. Menu is extremely limited in terms of dairy free, but staff are friendly and coffee is nice.
Amazing mussels - the best I've ever had! Plus enough to share with half the table! Awesome service too
House white is delicious, staff is friendly and place is good for a fine dining . Not woww but better than ok.
Great seafood restaurant - it's massive so you probably don't need a reservation during the week
Seafood is fantastic. Love their shellfish platter. Sometimes there is live piano .
Absolutly amazing mussels ! Very good restaurant !!
Good seafood at this restaurant . We were on a tight timetable and they got us in and out on schedule.
Great seafood stew . Great broth garlic bread . Lots of food in huge pot
Ask about the oysters , they have a unique history including being brought in from French waters.
Bit hit and miss - some lovely food (mussels , fish pie ) and some terrible (monkfish ). They seem to do pub-food to a high standard but step outside their comfort zone and they fail. Disappointing.
Oysters were great, the seafood pot with mussels was „too much work“
Great for business lunches - fab service and food
The mussels are amazing! Great service and beautiful interior .
Fantastic steaks as well as the fish options
The hake is the best fish in Dublin. I can never bring myself to order anything different! Friendly service
Great meal! Service was fantastic! Loved the bone in fish much mor flavorful.
Great service, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Try the oysters ... So fresh!
Scallops - wow, mussels - nop- very very small.
Very nice seafood and good atmosphere.
The mussels in cream sauce converted me ???? ????
Specials always great, food really good
scallops and pork belly
Oyster platter is great
So disappointed with this place. Sloppy service; uninspired, boring food. Would have been ok for a fast food place - but here? No. I can't even guess how they got known as a "gastro pub ".
service was a little impersonal and grumpy but the food was good quality.
Seafood Stew
Excellent. Really. Excellent

Best seafood in dublin.
Make sure you have extra hour to wait until you are served. Unbelievable. Reservation doesn't give you anything.
Michelle Obama was here :-)
Terrible place for a pint unless you order oysters or roe .

Great pint of Guinness. Live music played very often, even Sunday afternoons, in the old side. - Tero Angeria
not sure about the best guinness in town, but definitely the best pub on baggot st., especially the outside area. - Masha Krupskaya
A very old school traditional pub. Good selection of beers and a good food menu - prince of Arrogance
