The coziest little basement bar to lounge around with a drink. You can never go wrong with wood panelling .
Good cocktails and an extensive menu of classics. Service is poor even for a lounge , and the room design makes things very crowded , but if you don't mind, it's an absolute throwback.
You're paying for the atmosphere, so make the most of it. Go on a Saturday night and prepare to be sent back in time and serenaded by the jazz singer . Try the Hardball or the Moscow Mule .
A few draft beers on offer which was surprising (Stella/Guinness/Samuel Adams). Proper bar tender/service in a relaxed atmosphere . ???? ???? ????
It doesn't.get any more real than this. The Coq D' Or opened the day after the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. Have a classic cocktail and enjoy the atmosphere & history.
Hands down this place offers the best service of any bar I have been to. They can make any classic cocktail you desire to perfection and will stop at nothing to make sure you get a wine you love.
This wood-paneled Prohibition-era lounge at The Drake will make you feel like a million bucks—even while you’re taking advantage of happy hour prices (Monday through Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m.). Read more
Amazing old school atmosphere with classic cocktails . Great place to unwind after work.
Perfect after dinner bar , piano player is really good.....
I've been coming here for years. Decent drinks, adequate menu, good service . Get the Snapper Soup !!
Great ambiance, delicious whisky selection and so much history. Worth the trip
The Bookbinder soup is delightful. The burger on the soft pretzel roll is a must....scrumptious!
Perfect Manhattan . Perfect as in delicious, not as in half and half vermouth .
A bowl is two cups when it comes to the soup . Bookbinder soup is a must! And it is made from snapper (the fish ) not snapper (the turtle ) nowadays. Delish!
nice atmposphere on this Drake 's bar . Cozy , nice service and nice selection of wines and beer .
This was the 1st place to legally serve liquor again in Chicago when prohibition ended.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff . A must in Chicago.
The best part about the Coq d’Or is the live music on weekends. Read more
Service industry discount Sundays and Mondays - 25% off entire check.
The sweet potato fries ..oh my....a must.
Happy I rediscovered this oldie but goodie! Dark, comfy atmosphere. Revamped menu. Gr8 for drinks, food all day 11am-2am
Make your drink an executive size for a few bucks more.
They revamped their menu. The slider sandwiches are great, especially the grilled chicken . Order the turkey club ; it's wonderful.
Not a chichi cocktail lounge , but probably the most solid drink in Chicago.
Try the Chimay Red Cap! It's amazing...
The bookbinder soup is a Drake classic for a reason. Everyone should have two bowls a day.
Decent Manhattan . But the environment is stuffy. Quiet , upscale , but unremarkable.
The ambiance of a speakeasy , maybe. A whiskey bar , this is not.
Moscow Mule and deviled eggs : Do it.
Bookbinder Soup is a classic
Great place for late night cocktails ... & Excellent service .
If they're serving the split pea soup , get it. Good stuff.
Terrible service. We walked in to a not-so-crowded bar , and were overlooked by servers for 15 minutes. We left without ordering anything.
Loving the new look of a #RealChicago landmark .
excellent atmosphere!
It's 5 o'clock somewhere!
Mad Men style "executive size " scotch
I may or may not be sitting next to Joan Holloway.
One of the most comfortable places in the workd
Get an executive of your favorite liquor , no better way to start a long night :)
The Executive Martinis will knock you on your @$$
Definitely worth the experience. Got to choose our own tea blend and a few pastries. Waiter was so sweet and even took a picture of us at the end! Love the space, so historic and unique. - Claire Watkiss
Great view and the Crab Cake Benedict is perfection. Omg! - Tim
Everything is amazing. Great food great views. - GA ALEXANDER-TELL
high tea here is amazing. ask them to make you only veg sandwiches - Mina R
Amazing burgers! Would definitely go back. The sliders were fantastic. - Rebecca Plaine
Great views of Michigan Avenue and you can spot the lake. New American standard fare, some items with a twist. Market fish is tasty and changes daily. Portions are somewhat generous. - Kelly ????
The bacon Ia to die for especially wrapped around a scallop. And you can't go wrong with a medium steak and a glass of red wine. The wait staff was wonderful. Beware portions are huge! - Vanessa Campos
