Nieuwmarkt

This was my most favourite place in Amsterdam and it was close to all the major tourist joints in the city . Red Light District, coffee shops and good food. What a place to be!

Surrounded by lots of cafes , try not to get in a tourist trap, and enjoy the views of the Waag, the former scale of the city . Occasionally there's a market there with fresh fruits , vegetables , fish ...

Most of the chinese restaurants in this area are awesome. New King is my favourite. Great taste, big portion and decent price

On saturdays there's a small market with local produce itens: fresh fruit and veggies , flowers , cheese , honey , and also a few places to grab a quick bite .

On Saturdays theres a market with loads of fresh fruit and vegetables . Also the metro stops here for easy traveling to Central Station

Beautiful open square with an interesting defensive gate.

Bars , restaurants terraces . Great place to spend your sunday on a terrace in the sun. Order a Hoegaarden or Wieckse Witte (white beers )

I love shopping weekends here with the farmers markets on Saturday and a small flea market on Sunday.

Christmas trees now for sale by deWaag, lovely trees & reasonable prices. Also beautiful Irish-grown non-shed trees available.

The area itself isn't anything special, but its in the center of the city close to a lot of cool things.

Fresh fruit and veg at the Market stall all week - Market every Saturday and most Sundays. 2 cash machines on both sides of the square plus 1 inside Albert Heijn.

You can eat, drink, visit the market .... one of my favorite squares in Amsterdam :) Altijd gezellig!

Amsterdam is a great city to just walk or bike around.

Great for bio bread , sugarfree jam , mushrooms ....

Go to Tofani for a delicious Italian ice cream , and coffee

I think the bars are full with old people.
