$25 to use the communal baths . Good way to spend 2-3 hours relaxing. Hot tea , and salt to scrub yourself with in the steam room are nice touches.
The real reason to hit the Kabuki are their communal baths . You know that scene in Eastern Promises? That's the Kabuki. You're not allowed to talk, and it's a nude scene, so creepers get the boot . Read more
reasonably priced. whatever u do—massage, treatment, whatever—build in time to enjoy baths—esp the icy plunge. + take the salt w you into the steam sauna . best exfoliation ever. bring flip-flops.
My favorite experience in SF. Get naked, no phones, no talking; just lounge in the water and collect your thoughts. It’s a rare experience to break away from smartphones and be in the moment. Ahhhhh!
Even if you just want to do the baths, book an appointment. On busy nights it gets crowded and you have to get on the waitlist.
Best spa in sf very reasonable relaxing not she she very down to earth the treatments are grand but skip the facials the massage and bath is excellent
Kashla does the best facials ! She tried different products on me to find the best combination for my skin. She also wrote down recipes for a homemade exfoliant :) .. And she's super sweet.
Nirvana package was worth it. Massage , facial and body polish/scrub. Definitely a whole day trip including the communal springs. If I had more time, I would have took another dip into the springs.
$25 gets you an all day pass to a gorgeous beautiful spa . After 7 hours you're guaranteed to feel better. I try to go 1x month. -Yigit Pura, Top Chef Just Desserts
Great spa , super relaxing and a perfect way to wind down at the end of a long work day.
The baths and massage were heaven, the shower amenities were also excellent
Great place to treat yourself well and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere .. Recommend the foot treatment and Javanese Lulur body treatment
Go for peaceful solo experience, weekdays or weekend mornings or evenings. Weekend afternoons can be a killer wait. I recommend following with sushi at Isobune. Read more
Book early and have a massage after your bath time
it's good for US standards I guess, but you'll be disappointed if you're used to ones in Asia
Very relaxing but temperatures are all too moderate.
Hermann gave a great massage - perfect pressure and stretching
Have a lazy, late brunch , and then come to the communal baths to waste the rest of your day away in languid, relaxing bliss. Have sushi for dinner in the Japan Centre.
Don't forget to bring your own (clean ) flip flops if you don't want to make the dreaded barefoot trekk to the bathroom !
Swedish massage , super zen bath, great use of 3 hours

Great times and wonderful baths.
Have the sashimi-tempura combo platter at Sapporo-Ya before taking a long long soak.

pretty disappointed at the young male caller who picked up the phone. didn't seem at all friendly or helpful. apparently didn't have the sense to want my business given how hyped this place already is
The real deal. Clean and new, good steam, whirlpool, and sauna facilities. Reasonably priced. I tried the oak leave massage and it was intense. Worth the trip - Rob Atkinson
