Do the 7-8 mile loop. You won't regret the views from the top mixed with massive redwoods during the second half. Stop at Pantoll campground to grab a bite to eat and take a ???????? break.
Start at the pantoll on top of Mt Tam, and cruise down to Stinson beach. Or start at Stinson and work your way up!
This trail can definitely take upwards to an entire day. Beautiful views when you get to the peaks of Stinson Beach.
Once you get the first heart attack out of the way, the rest of the trail is great!
If you are doing the roundtrip hike , start at Stinson Beach! First 1.5 miles is very very steep
Steep Ravine hike is great. Lush forests with beautiful moss. The views are wonderful and on a clear day you can see all the way to SF. - Adena Brenowitz
Stunning trail. We did the portion that connects to Steep Ravine Trail and loops back to parking lot. Gorgeous views, varied scenery, and a very unusual/interesting step descent. - Nico Pitney
There’s a brilliant cafe near the beach - Siren Cafe I think - makes the whole experience great. Strong recommend. - Tom Coates
Gorgeous views. Lots of trails. Take a picnic or check our the Mountain Home Inn for lunch overlooking the hills, the Bay and the local towns. - TerraTopia
Probably the best place to eat out in Stinson Beach. Nice big breakfast selection - Stephanie L
