Great sushi and sashimi . Fresh and great flavors, good sake selection and a large cooked menu. We lucked out and got seats w/no res right away but res is def the safe way to go. Still family- owned!
Nice choice and sushi , sashimi and cooked Japanese food . And everything was fresh! Really liked the aubergine tasty and originally cooked. Also the gyoza and the sashimi was remarkable. Price awesome
Still going great after all those years - don’t expect New York style $300 tasting menu and ambiance - it’s a former pub after all ;) the staff is very nice and the fish is fresh
Akari rolls , chicken nanban , tempura moriawase are great, satisfying dishes. All 3 fish carpaccio on the specials are to die for. For sthg a bit more adventurous, try mackerel sushi and Takosu.
Wide selection of really tasty food (chirashi don is yum, as are the mackerel dishes), friendly staff , nice atmosphere and fair prices .
Went back after a few years. Management and chef changed. Food went from very good to average with higher prices. One of our favourites crossed off the list ????
Shocking service. But the food makes up for it. The sushi is very fresh and quick. Pork Katsu not as great as reviews say. Black sesame seed ice cream a must try
The food is great from the sushi to the hot food! Try the noodle salad -one of my favs!
Best japanese restaurant in the area. Try as much as possible. I recommend to reservate . Very fast service .
Delicious range of sushi and hot Japanese dishes in a gastropub setting. Excellent range of Japanese beer and sake .
Nice sushi , but don't neglect the rest of the menu! Chicken nanban and gyu tataki ????
Best sushi in London . Tuna tataki is so good you'll want two portions
amazing food at a very fair price ! Don't miss the spicy tuna handroll !
Try Tuna Tataki for a great mixture of flavors. Small menu with a good variety of choices.
Salmon nanban is a must. My husband fell in love w it at first bite :)
Delicious and fresh with quick service . Great selection too
Super authenticity .. Nihonji foods ..enjoy Katsu and tempura prawns ????
Quite nice Japanese. Sushi is excellent. Tempura is ok. Desserts are nice, but very overpriced. Good service (but not superfriendly). Come here if you are fancying some Japanese cuisine.
Best sushi in London ! The tuna takani and the meat is exceptional.
Favourite place for sushi in london ! Tuna tataki all the way
Biggest inari I've ever seen! Great prices, salmon skin roll not so good
Loved the eel nigiri sushi and salmon carpaccio , highly recommended.
Excellent food, very affordable . Try the Salmon Nanban , it's great.
Great sushi ! Be sure to double check the bill, as we had a 2 rolls on our bill we didn't order (27 pounds).
Very good ramen , the same need to be said of sushi . Nice place to eat
The nasu dengaku is delicious! Yellow tail was tasty too
The salmon and avocado inside out maki is soooo good and so is the ebi fry
Try chef’s sushis , you won’t regret it!
The sashimi is delicious! (and of course, goes well with the plum wine and sake . mmm)Always a good sign when a Japanese restaurant is full of Japanese people!
The best Japanese food in London! Try everything with tuna !!
Great tofu salad with homemade sesame dressing . Green tea ice cream is a must!
Akari roll . Eel and avocado roll . Seaweed salad . Miso soup .
Good sushi . Read our full review on Scoff London: http://scofflondon.com/restaurants/akari-review-n1/
Sashimi is amazing - fresh and tasty
The aubergine is just... amazing!
As other folk have said, awesome sushi - let down a bit by service...
Great sushis , Nigiris and bentos !! But horrible venue. The service is disappointing....
Very nice food but very little portions.
Black cod with miso was amazing. However, the sashimi was really average and thus overpriced.
Good honest japanese food !
Very good food. Service can be a bit better
Nice cozy japanese restaurant .
Good sushi , like I mean really good.
Best japanese restaurant in London, fact.
The yellow tail cheek is ace and also make sure you reserve some space for the homemade cheesecake
Wow, the service is so shockingly bad that I refused to pay the discretionary service charge. Food arrived haphazardly. My GF's cod arrived 5 minutes before the salad , and mine 20 minutes after.
Deep fried Aubergine and grilled cod ...delishes......
Sushis are good but service isn't great
Deliciously… lunch
Good nigiris , decent Japanese dishes , but mediocre appetizers
Lovely ambience, busy upstairs but nice and quiet downstairs. You must try the Tempura Fiesta its so good! Love it here. - Harry Earle-Mundil
Enjoyed Moriawase Sashimi e.g. Maguro felt like it melted in mouth. Other dishes good too. Lucky to get table, place was packed by 7pm - reservations normally needed. Keenly priced. Great food. - Vidhya Gholkar
Very good & very typical (I.e. proper Japanese katsu!) Will be back very soon. - Tony Muraki-Hart
Good staff, beer menu, nice sun facing garden and great food make this a really nice more relaxed pub in the area. - Chris Marsh
Tiny but delicious cocktails and attention to detail. Also, beautiful live piano jazz. - Sam Garson
