4th or 5th time going there and again an absolute delight. Definitely the best Japanese ressautant in London. Hard to get a table so plan in advance. Nasu Dengaku (Miso Aubergine ) is a must try.
One of the best Japanese restaurant in London (actually an izakaya ). The sushis were fantastic, as were the many skewers for instance. Note that the karaage comes on the bone. Great Japanese staff too
Good salmon sashimi and yellow tail . Sushi will take time to be prepared and might come after your food but they tell you. You can ask for salmon shioyaki which not on the menu and it is really good.
Looks a bit run-down, but the food is soo worth it! Also amazing value. We personally loved the miso soup , Nasu Dangaku and the avocado sushi . Absolutely loved it, looking forward to going again soon!
Very authentic place with a huge menu - over a hundred positions - and they always have everything. Try salmon sashimi and gyoza dumplings . Great stuff.
Authentic Japanese run by Japanese. Izakaya style so don't expect luxuries . Always really busy so book in advance. Food is excellent and quite cheap . Not the best sushi but noodles and udon are great.
Whatever you order I assure you will be amazing! Fresh, cheap , tasty, authentic and friendly . A real hidden treasure in London! Highly recommended!
Amazing spot. All of the food is so delicious, but it gets very crowded as it's a very popular spot. Phone like a week in advance if it's more than two of you going, and avoid the basement .
Favourite Japanese restaurant in London . Very authentic , beautiful dishes and good prices for what you are getting. A hidden gem ! Make a booking for the weekend - they are often full!
Authentic Japanese restaurant with very good quality, quantity and price! Small limited seating so make sure to book . Can be very loud . Very friendly staff and good for groups .
Good luck getting a reservation but it's totally worth it. I would actually recommend the non-sushi dishes: many of them I've not seen in other Japanese restaurants (and it's good here!).
It was delicious. Everything was amazing. Atmosphere is rustic Japanese, not pretentious . We took and I'd definitely recommend: Nasu dengaku , Kuragesu, Gindara kasu zuke, Tori Kawa, Ika shouga yaki
Didn’t book and still got a table on a friday night. So many dishes to choose from! Grab takoyaki for starters and any meats for the main. We has many and was not disappointed!
Enjoyed Moriawase Sashimi e.g. Maguro felt like it melted in mouth. Other dishes good too. Lucky to get table, place was packed by 7pm - reservations normally needed. Keenly priced. Great food.
Cheap and cheerful; authentic home made style food. Recommended for group of friends who want a drink / eat Japanese experience . Take reservations
One of the 1st Jap restaurants I tried in London after a long run around Regents Park . Looks like a traditional Japanese noodlehouse with lots of kanji scribed on the wall, very busy so try to book !
Authentic Japanese food , quite izakaya style . The eggplant is wonderful. Sushi bar has a long wait so order fast. Reserve to make sure you get a table.
Fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine, all freshly cut sashimi - Tai (Sea Bream ) sashimi is a must have
Very nice little authentic-looking place. Had sushi and tempura , both good and reasonably priced. Book in advance, it gets crowded !
Pickled jelly fish sounds gross but its actually gorgeous - if you like the texture of squid sashimi and vinegary flavours you should give it a try!
Very nice food and reasonable price! Pork tariaki with miso soup is very good.
Great authentic Japanese food . Variety of dishes, fresh sushi , nice selection of sake . Friendly staff . Full of Japanese people
Great quality authentic Japanese food served by actual Japanese staff . Bargain basement prices as the place needs sprucing, can't recommend enough.
good service . made veg tempura bento for vegan ! The only place I know I. London to make tempura without egg or dish stock upon request
Best place ever! Fresh and tasty food. Not the fanciest restaurant in London but the quality speaks for itself. Dont forget to book your table early in advance.
Best katsu I've ever had.
Amazing and cheap skewers ! Sashimi were equally delish. We were shocked went the bill came - shocked that it was cheap !
Tiny place, reservations necessary. Forget the sushi , get right to the small plates , sashimi & yakitori . Noodles not bad too.
Best Japanese I've ever had. The prices are great but you definitely need to book a table 2-3 days earlier.
Authentic and well-priced but make sure you book , and ask for a table away from the door...
deep fried aubergine with sweet soya-bean paste. To die for!
Awesome sushis and Sashimis place in London, great value !
Superb Beef Tataki , Chicken drum sticks with salad , Miso based Aubergine and always order the sashimi first because that takes a while
The sushi tastes very fresh! And very well priced! The black cod was amazing
Best Japanese restaurant in London for the low prices. Don't get teishoku/sushi, get 2/3 dishes each from the mains list and eat tapas style like the natives. It's just like being in Japan. Oishiiiii! Read more
This is where the Japanese will go for Japanese food . Must try the aubergine coated with miso sauce . Reserve at least a day before, otherwise you've to wait till 9.30pm or later. Read more
Cheap and absolutely delicious, impressive food! Best value sushi in London. Booze is also very very cheap . Does it get better?
Sashimi was amazing!! Very authentic and great value for money
If you're in the mood for noodles , try the Asakusa Udon . You won't regret it.
The food really does live up to the hype and it won’t burn a big hole in your pocket. Good & delicious food but slow service . Must book .
Real Japanese food . Everything is good. Book ahead!
Proper Japanese izakaya . Torikawa (chicken skin ) skewers are fried but still delicious.
Very good Japanese restaurant . Excellent food and friendly staff :-)
The BEST japanese in london. For foodies. And it's great value
Excellent food. Booking often necessary. Open till late, we went after a concert at Koko!!
This restaurant made me feel I was back in Japan, very authentic . Make sure to get the nasu dengaku as a starter.
Do not miss the grilled marinated black cod . Tastes amazing and totally affordable too!
Tasty teriyaki , was busy when we went on Friday evening.
