An old school diner open 24/7. Good food, especially for breakfast . The Loco Moco (my favorite) & omelettes are really tasty. GREAT pancakes , quite a variety. Good coffee . LARGE portions.

Clif Cameron

The oxtail stew was great. Caters to tourist . If you are looking for local and fresh wrong place. However, food good and service good. Feels and looks like small town Texas diner . Good value good food

Open 24 hours a day, it's a great stop if you're hungry late in Hilo. A diner-style menu with local favorites, order the largest ramen to hear them ring the bell and everyone yell "Sumo!"

Andrew Fuller

Still craving the pancakes with lillikoi, guava , and coconut syrups . Delicious eggs Benedict ! We came here a few times on our trip!

KC

The best pancakes I have ever had! The inside interior is super cute . This place is a must-visit if you go to Hilo.

Brodie Olmstead

Everyone comes for the pancakes , but their menu is extensive. HUGE portions so come hungry.

Kirsten Udani

Sumo is exactly what it sounds like! Big enough for a hungry teen or two normal people (at least). Awesome Saimin and great chili too.

Beth B

The menu was one of the largest I've ever seen! A bit pricey but we thoroughly enjoyed our late night breakfast here.

Rick Russell

The Macadamia encrusted Mahi Mahi with Lilikoi Hollandaise sauce was UN-BE-LIEVABLE!!

Jose Palomares

Huge portions , good quality, decent prices. Come in hungry, leave with a smile (and a swollen belly!)

Stopped here after a trip to Volcanos National Park ... Worth the stop - one of the best meals we've had on the island and well priced!

The family bathroom is the one you want to use if you need to. It's so much cleaner and nicer than the men's and my friend tells me the woman's too.

Adam Hirsch

Vegetarian Sausage and Veggie Bacon ... The Mauna Loa omelette was great, as is the Veggie BLT. Definitely get pancakes too.

Jimmy Kastner

They have some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Try the special syrups . They're all really good.

Jenn Parmesan

The teriyaki beef hoagie is soooo good!! The meat is tender and the sauce is just delicious. The Vietnamese iced coffee is really good too (iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk ). Love this place!

Norman Ellis

Pancakes are great. The staff are very friendly .

Awesome French Toast - not too sweet, but super filling. The Keiki menu has some nice options for those looking for smaller portions.

There are 4 choices of syrup : maple , guava , lilikoi , and coconut . Lilikoi is the best!!

Look out for a celebrity sighting of The Rock, he visits Ken's every time he's in Hilo (his cousin owns the place!). BJ Penn is also seen eating here before and after training .

Food was just okay and was really taken back that they wanted to charge me again for a 2nd tea bag. You can drink all the coffee you want but only give 1 bag for the giant carafe of water they give u.
